The Satrapy of Uurartu

Satrap: Ashurbanipal of House Sacaar

Crossing from Ashur through the Slaver’s Gate will take you to the west coast of the Empire and the Satrapy of Uuratu. Rugged and stony hills topped with fortresses overlook scrawny cattle in thornfilled pastures. The people of this land are no strangers to hardship and to master such a barren and demanding land has forged a people that are like none other in the Empire. Uuratites are typically tall, well-built and display more of the orc-like physical traits that are reviled by other Uuman. A sizable portion of their economy is associated with raids and extracting tribute from smaller tribes and other peoples, a practice that has been cracked down on by the ruling minority Bashkazi clan, much to the chagrin of the now servile Qaatu majority. Tensions rise as more and more tribes begin to openly defy the satrap’s rule.
