The Satrapy of Harmundara

Satrap: Haltermaash of House Sacaar

Noble and courageous are words that may be used to describe Harmundara and her peoples, although haughty and cruel would fit just as well. The Harmundarans are the true masters of horse and bow, spear and shield. Until their subjugation by Kuurash the Great, their lives were organised around the yearly Trial of Lands, a ritualised form of warfare in which great houses proved their worth to claim prized grazing lands. This ruling martial class, called the Kataphractoi, were propped up by the enslaved Ekbatinites who worked the fields and turned the wheels of industry. Now the Hall of Oaths lies in ruins and the slaves are set free, Harmundara is a husk of her former splendour. But folk whisper in secretive tones of a new League of Archons who will return Harmundara to her rightful seat of power. The lion of the east will roar again…
