The Mound

The Mound used to be the Karnian Royal Family's prison of last resort, saved for the most cunning and vicious killers and supernatural threats which could not be contained in a more humane facility. The island fortress was built with anti-magic woven into its depths, creating cell shaped pockets of dead magic, rendering any wizard or sorcerer within powerless. General Morin has appropriated the facility and redesigned it. Now it serves as a mass-imprisonment complex with much of the keep interior now housing non-human refugees displaced by his policies and political dissidents who opposed his rule. Varex Illan was briefly imprisoned in the deep anti-magic cells of the Mound but was rescued by a band of mercenaries hired by The Resistance.
