Phaneran Commandos

Phaneran Commandos are the elite of the elite among the kingdom of Phaneros's military. To qualify for commando training a soldier must have all the skills of a master technician and an elite ranger. Commandos wield classified and unknown advanced weaponry to secretly protect the highest of Phaneran interests, usually technological knowledge itself. They are ruthless and imaginative, fully capable of scavenging raw materials and devising new technological solutions in the field. Their targets tend to die in an incredibly diverse array of means. Poison, explosions, advanced weapons fire, vaporization, even unwilling and lethal teleportation. All commando technologies are equipped with a complex form of dead man's switch. Through self-activation, remote access or upon the cessation of life signs, Commando technology is rigged to explode with great force, both a final act of retribution and an effective means of protecing their technology from outsiders. Only a handful of exceptional individuals have ever been allowed to retire from active commando service to work outside the kingdom. These individuals are closely monitored and the opportunity given only to the most loyal and diligent agents for acts of exceptional service. They bear a particular grudge against forces of The Theia Commerce Group, one of the only organizations which has shown some success in emulating Phaneran Magi-Technology either by derivation or outright theft. Rumor has it that the headquarters of the Phaneran Commandos contains a large terrarium which contains dozens of miniaturized but still living Theia operatives who have been captured in the country.
