The Theia Commerce Group

The Theia Commerce Group is a massive unified economic coalition which spans the entire surface of Soma. They have interests in nearly every industry and market and exert a level of influence over world affairs comparable or perhaps even greater than any other entity. The Group is led by a controlling board, made up of top executives from the various specialized branches of the company. The identities of these individuals is a closely guarded secret, for public affairs they work through a handful of chief officers such as Aldrin.   In the past, the Theia Commerce Group had always functioned in a sort of amoral laissez-faire state of capitalistic greed. They were economically hungry and immoral but always moved with the clear motive of income and market share in mind. Theia administrators are experts at manipulating local regulations to cultivate the appearance of adhering to the letter of the law. But some internal change has occurred over the last two decades and the Theia Commerce Group appears to have crossed from simple greed into some more explicitly evil and complex drive. Theia funds were key in faciliating the Morin coup and various Theia industries have seemingly lost all sense of decorum or regard when it comes to mining, fishing, logging and other environmentally precarious industries.   The Group is so large that it functions more like a transnational political state with its own navy, military operatives and numerous company managed settlements across the globe. Theia research wizards and alchemists maintain their own facilities of study and underneath it all runs the vast web of production, trade and shipping that is the core of Theia's power.   While unknown to the public at large, it has become clear to The Resistance and its allies that Theia is actively working to release the dark goddess Tiamat from her prison beneath the twelve Seals. It is unclear, perhaps unimaginable, what a mortal corporation could hope to gain from this self-destructive act but the facts presented thus far point firmly towards that conclusion.
