Amaranth (Hinterlands)
The sprawling city of Amaranth is the capital of the Hinterlands and its primary economic hub. Seated along a river mouth and the expansive Amaranthine Bay, Amaranth is well situated to control one of the most important outlets between Karnes and the outside world. An incredible fraction of the world's grain passes through ships leaving its port and all of the imported goods needed by the Hinterlands pass through it. The city has an intricate series of walls, sea walls and fortified light houses and towers that help protect it from both the elements and an outside invasion.
General Vilhem claimed the city for himself and Morin Regime forces during the prolonged conflict with Resistance elements following the Morin coup. Serving as the primary material, training and staging ground for operations in the Hinterlands, the city has a massive military presence.
