Justar

After the conflicts that followed the Great Voraci War that ended in 325E2 the council of The Elven Republic voted on whether they should distance themselves almost fully from the mainland of Ansalon. The vote passed and a great sorcerer by the name Justar began preparing a spell. This spell was of significant magnitude and it moved the entire continent of Edheltol further toward the west, widening the ocean gap between the two landmasses significantly. The real purpose of this has never been revealed, but it has been widely speculated it was mostly done in a fit of fury and pride, since after a few decades of complete silence the republic re-established at least some of the trading voyage routes, however establishing a strict "no dwarves" ruling.   Lesser known to the general public, at least in Ansalon, is that Justar was also the one responsible for creating an anti-magic barrier around the entire continent of Edheltol. The purpose of this barrier was to keep hostile magics and teleportation spells out of the land of the elves. It is not publicly known how he was able to accomplish such a feat, which has not been able to be replicated since. The elf also mysteriously disappeared afterwards, never to be seen again.   Regardless, the sorcerer's power is respected and recognized. A cape on the eastern coast of Edheltol has been renamed Justar's Nose, as well as the port city being now called Justar's Bay.
