The Attuned
Existing anywhere that Fungril have migrated to, The Attuned are an animistic religion that emphasizes that all things, ultimately, are destined to become soil. The Cult teaches that the Mycillial network is itself a living, conscious being, and that each individual in the network is a part of that being.
This organization sells long-distance communication services across the mycillial network. This is an expensive service, mostly used by diplomats, merchants, and spies. The Attuned excel at creating and breaking codes.
Structure
Non-Hierarchic. Each Fungril or similarly attuned individual in the cult is a node in the network, but no one node can connect to more than about 100 others, and nodes tend to cluster geographically. A fungril will have many nodes close to them and fewer more long distance connections. The limit on the number of connections that any one fungril can maintain, compared to the millions of nodes in the network, mean that communication between two fungril might go through many hops.
Culture
Oddly, fiercely individualist. That is, they believe that that each node may behave exactly as they choose, and that the independence of those behaviors, choices, and decisions is critical to the conciousness of the network. Individuals may spend more or less time in the network. Individuals who spend a great deal of time communing with others within the network tend to speak about the network, or "The Whole" in more mystical terms.
Foreign Relations
The network is a double edged sword. By using the network, it is possible to pass messages and gather news from across the world. On the other hand, these messages aren't going to be particularly secure and there's no accounting for the politics or loyalties of each individual node.
Tenets of Faith
The network is a being (the Whole). By being a part of the network, each member can gather a small part of the vast wisdom of the whole.
