Zhulesha

The World-Eater (a.k.a. Mors)

"The World-Eater. Kind of a grim name, when you put it like that... even if it is her destiny. Many prefer to call her the All-Mother, a proper analogue to Asefa; were you to ask a human, though, her name would be Mors, or "death". She, like Vite, has her own season, where plants wither and animals retreat into their burrows, as the cold season starts to come."
--- An entry from Ke'tlan's journal of Solarian Mythos

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The Golden Horns
To The Daemon Peoples, the symbolism of the golden horns is immediately apparent. For those uninitiated: horns are a symbol of pride for Daemon, and are the sole body part preserved after death. In Daemonic, the metal gold [zhuleya] has an explicit word connotation with Mors, who in Daemonic is known as the Golden Goddess.
The White Rose
This symbol is yet another modern one, thanks to human influence. For humans, the placement of flowers at a grave site is a sign of respect for the dead; the rose, more specifically the white rose, symbolizes death, rebirth, and change. Like Asefa, Mors appears in human Tarot's Major Arcana; she symbolizes Death.

Tenets of Faith

  1. Learn that everything in life has a purpose: delaying the inevitable makes undue suffering.
  2. Sacrifice your time and energy for others: your own personal growth depends on their growth.
  3. Every creature wants to survive: honor their life when you need to kill them for your own survival.
  4. The Mother of Death will come for you, too: stare too far into her eyes, and she'll consume you early.

Holidays

Spirit's Leap: Sol 70.5 [Kairos, or February 29th]
This holiday shares a similarity with Year's End, where the planet appears to suspend in stasis during this day. What's ominous about this day is that it is actually night, and it only happens once every four years. Spirit's Leap is the day that the ancestral dead escape Solaris and return to Mors, where the cycle of birth begins anew.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Mors' ultimate goal is to consume the world when the World Serpent is uncoiled from it. It is a grim thought, but many believe that this day is far, far in the future. As for her current aspirations, absorbing the souls of the dead on Spirit's Leap is her main goal.   She is known to immediately consume the bodies of the minor deities, outside of Spirit's Leap: this is due to the fact that the souls of gods are able to permeate through the World Serpent's coiled body. The minor gods keep all of humanity in check, so their being alive is very important for the ecosystem.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

Mors is best characterized by her long neck that contains multiple eyes, which open and close with the eyes atop her head. Another important feature of hers is the pair of bracelet-covered, hair-like arms popping out from the back of her head, as well as her canid-shaped head that looks painted with a skull.   Like Vite, Mors hardly makes herself appear physically on the planet, and prefers to visit her children within their dreams. Her appearance within the mind's eye does change, but not as drastically as the visions that Vite gives: all interpretations of Mors have her dark face painted with a white skull.   An interesting quirk with Mors, though: whenever she speaks, her eyes stay closed.

Relationship Reasoning

Mors is literally the other half of Vite, split when the stress of overpopulation overwhelmed him.

Shared Secrets

Their main shared secret is The Day of Blackened Sky: the moment that Vite becomes overwhelmed once again and Solaris' fate is sealed via Mors' hungry jowls.

Shared Acquaintances

As they are two halves of a single individual, all acquaintances are shared between the two. No deity created by them seems to resent either, as they are fully aware of the world's state.
