Solar Ruin

In 2199 Earth, the birthplace of humanity was bathed in Nuclear fire, but that was not the end of the human story.

In the decades prior to that fateful day humanity had spread across the Solar System, with colonies from the terraformed Mars all the way to distant Neptune. Those colonies followed their home nations into war across the Solar System, but when the Earth burned the Old Nations burned with it, and the colonies were left on their own to sift through the ashes.

In the end the colonies chose peace, and though there were some bumps on the road in the end this peace would last for nearly two centuries. 200 years of peace and prosperity in which hummanity was allowed to recover, and many dared to dream that perhaps hummanities days of war were behind them.

Now that dream lies shattered and the Solar system is once again sliding into total war. The Inner System is in chaos Mars, the new cradle of humanity is divided between two hostile superpowers, while pirates and zealots wreak havoc across previously safe space. Beyond the Asteroid Belt the mysterious Jovians watch, for years they have kept to themselves, but now something appears to have riled them up and their ships are sighted as ar as Venus. All the while something stirs on Earth, new signals are being detected and it appears the Dead Cradle may not be as dead as it was once assumed.
