Overview

The Raven Brand is the personal raiding company of Jarl Oren Havvarsson, known across the fjords and far coasts not for the glory of conquest, but for cold efficiency and the weight of their silence. Where other bands boast of victory in song and steel, the Raven Brand leaves no tales—only empty villages, scuttled hulls, and black-feathered tokens left behind like warnings.

Though technically bound to Nordheim and the crown, the Brand operates with near-total independence. Its ships sail far beyond the known charts, striking trading posts, rival clans, and unaligned holdings with surgical brutality. Yet they are just as often seen docking quietly in foreign ports under false banners, trading slaves, weapons, and rare wares with coin-stained hands.

Reputation

Among the other Jarls, the Raven Brand is regarded with a mix of respect and wariness. They lack the pageantry of the old raiding cults but make up for it in results—and in Oren’s uncanny ability to turn every voyage into profit, often in ways that never reach the ledgers. Rumors persist that they’ve raided allies, trafficked with pirates, or even sold out other Nordheim ships to foreign kings—but nothing has ever been proven.
