Vanessa

Human; former lover of Jagosi, the ship's mechanic. She is tomboyish and cheerful, and hides most of her problems behind sarcasm and a smile. She grew up as a boy working in a machine shop with her father and her brother in Crossroads, then graduated from college at the age of 15 with a master's degree in mechanical engineering. She is also very promiscuous, Keeping a harem of men on retainer that she calls her "Maniacs". Jagosi was one such maniac, but things got a bit too serious for her tastes and she dipped. She later came back and reconciled with Jagosi, but he died shortly after, leaving her seriously doubting her decision to care deeply for other people.
