Federland (Fed-er-land)
Amongst the never ending Atlas Mountains, there lies a meadow created by the all mother, goddess of wind. Here her people are free to fly unfettered high above the Brisejodeln Mountains or the Myrkwood. Many species of Avians call this basin home, from the seabirds and ducks of the southwest fjords to the mighty falcons and eagles of the cliffs.
Federland is a nation is Soirea, located in central east Coronae, and its guardian deity is the Goddess of Wind, Johanna. There are three main areas of Federland, the Borderland, which include the north and south cliffs, the central meadows and the Myrkwood which borders Scintillante.Structure
Despite being an electoral monarchy, the royal family of Federland holds very little political power, with power being handed over to instead the Grandmaster of the Anemoi Order. The grandmaster has full legal, judicial and authoritative power and is the head of the majority of the sections of the government, especially the knights which are the country’s internal security organisation.
The Kaiser is the nominal head of state and is elected by the Kurfürsten of the Thing. The Thing is a national council consisting of all the leading people of Federland. The council members/ Kurfürsten consists of:
The Grandmaster- the head of the council and de facto head of Federland.
The Lawspeaker- the head of the judicial system.
The 11 Cardinal Captains- Captains of the Anemoi Order.
The Landrätin- Individuals who oversee the defence and trade of individual Feder districts.
Clan leaders- Leaders of the clans of Federland and rule over individual cities. Often clan leaders would also be Landrätin.

Culture
Feder culture is known to heavy emphasis on individualism and freedom. From an early age Feders are taught to embrace what makes them unique. This individualistic culture is further enforced by their annual Boflygning festival where young Feders are encouraged to travel for 9 days and nights (note that in old Feder texts, 9 days was in fact a phrase used to describe and indeterminate amount of time) to wherever they please and return with something which represents them. They need no money as they simply present a Boflyging feather and will be given whatever they need. This festival is done to prepare the Feders for their Debutante Ball. On the other side of this individualistic culture is that sometimes Feder parents would feel more inclined to leave their families to travel alone. Another problem is the rapid alcoholism rate of many Feders due to them believing that relaxation and enjoyable moments are the most important things in life.
Feder culture varies greatly within the basin. While the central meadows are often cited as the staple Feder culture, the forest, cliffs and coasts are very different. The main difference to meadow culture in the forest is the prevalence of witchcraft in the area. The groves of Federland are home to some of their most talented healers and mages as well as the original of many stories amongst Feder youth. The cliffs, both north and south, are known to be incredibly popular tourist destinations within Federland and are the birthplace of traditional Feder fondue, skiing and yodelling. The coasts of Federland have been predominantly inhabited by the native Seabird population since the formation of the basin and because of this, have a very ocean centric culture focused on sailing and fishing. Another difference of coastal culture is their heavy emphasis on family and blood relations, something found no where else in Federland. Festivals and Holidays
Boflygning Festival
The Fjalldetta- the day the meadow was created.
Volkserntefest- The day most major crops, ie. beer and wine, are harvested.
Formbreytir Födelsedag- The day offerings are made to the Formbreytir and his children to keep good relations.
Sjøanrop Hale- A festival where the coastal Feders celebrate the fishing haul.
Fljótandi Skrúðganga- A day where every avian takes to the skies in hot hair balloons and circles around the entire nation.
Architecture
The architecture in Federland is characterized by a stone ground floor with a larger upper floor made of wood and a tall curved roof which acts as a third floor. This top floor is often accompanied by a roofless balcony. The house includes a brick chimney topped with hay resembling a nest and a kite attached to the spout. On one floor houses the roof will reach the floor and the curve would be more drastic. In some cities building would also include a front stone facade. Similar to Akasha, Feder cities prefer to build vertically as to fit inside of the city walls. This leads to incredibly tall towers of multiple houses stacked on top of each other. With the coastal communities of Federland, instead of a curved roof, the roof would instead be shaped to resemble a ship, due to the heavy emphasis of sailing in their culture. Due to their vertical architecture, skyways between buildings are incredibly common. Clothing
Feder clothing consists of backless tops and multiple layers due to the colder temperatures at high altitudes. Common accessories include ribbons, puff balls, pinwheels and feathers. Language
Alongside the common language, the Feder language is used, which is a mixture of the north and central Germanic languages.

History
Originally the Feder tribes inhabitied the incredibly tall and frigid Atlas mountains, however, because of their altitude, the tribes could not grow any crops. Seeing this, Johanna lent her aid to the tribes, she raised their tribes up into the sky and called forth winds to flatten the mountains. she then placed the tribes back into their new idylic meadow and devoted herself to watching over her beloved children.

Originally used in traditional boat burials, aircrafts soon became suitable for commercial travel after being introduced to Eadlish clockwork technology. Enchanted hot air balloons are often used to carry items between floors of a building.

Infrastructure
Many Feder cities are surrounded by a large stone wall with the farms and houses on the outskirts. An iconic symbol of Federland is the windmill due to their prominence and popularity in Feder architecture. The Federland Staadtbahn is a cross country railway which connects many of the major cities across Federland.
