The Beylix Kingdom

The Kingdom of Beylix [or 'The Beyliks'] is a monarchical reign of once-desert dwelling peoples. Their midland status has always caused them problems when attempting to maintain hegemony of their region. But the Squall has changed that; now a waypoint between one part of Valerian and the other, Beylix has become an important place for travel. Their rising bid for power threatens the typical hierarchy of the West over Valerian, as for them to remain a gatekeep for the East could turn them into a hegemon of the peninsula. The Beylicks are talented swordsmen and have some of the best steelcraft in all the world. But the desperate need to keep the country's integrity afloat has caused the country to become highly militaristic; even in the day-to-day treatment of their populace.
