Brotherhood of Flames

Centered around the Volcanic Ring, the Brotherhood of Flames was formed to guide others away from the volcanoes. Serving as diligent guards of the region They prevent others from entering the region, but they also enter into the area and have cataloged the area. Ever since the Volcanic Ring was discovered by aquatic expeditions they have been in the area doing whatever possible to keep people out.

Structure

Their organization is simple: The Fire lord reigns over all, and the rest of the members are split into seven covens. Five of these guard the perimeter of the Volcano Ring, one serves on the inside of the ring, and the last serves the outside world
Chief of the Brotherhood of flames is the Fire Lord, he is the leader of the brotherhood and he holds the position for the rest of his life. When the Fire Lord dies he is replaced by an election, and any member of the brotherhood is eligible for the position. Each of the covens will elect a member and then the elected will be sent to a general election. In the general election, the members of the covens will vote for their choice, but they are unable to cast their vote for the member of their coven. When the voting is over the candidate with the most votes is appointed Fire Lord and leads the brotherhood.
Each of the covens is headed up by a chief, who is typically the seniormost member of that coven, and the chief organizes the members of his coven to carry out the covens tasks to the best of its ability. Within each coven their is a different system of hierarchy apart from the general system.

Culture

The members are taught when they are first initiated that they have been chosen for the honor of guarding the Volcano Ring. Before they receive their initiation they have to pass through a gauntlet that both trains them and weeds out those who are too weak to succeed. This also creates the idea that they are superior to those who are not members of the brotherhood. Many of the more fanatical ones come to worship the volcanoes that they are guarding.

Public Agenda

The front that they present to the rest of the world is that they serve to prevent unwary ships from traveling into the dangerous waters between to volcanoes.

History

Formed shortly after the discovery of the volcanoes, they were initially formed to warn wary travelers of the dangers of the volcanoes after a dozen ships went missing inside of the ring.  As time passed they grew in size and began to explore the inside of the Volcano Ring. since than they have performed the same duties that their predecessors did, as well as explore several other volcanic regions because of their expertise in volcanic activity.

The flames protect us and we protect them.
