While many religions got their start on the planets and in the cultures of specific species, these religions came about in the era of the interplanetary alliance as different species interacted with each other and the vastness of galactic space. As such, some people see them as cults, some see them as social experiments, and many others simply don't know much about them. These religions do not see the same degree of participation as the older religions, so the intricacies of their belief systems are not common knowledge.
Gospel of the Void Gate
The original devotees of the Void Gate claimed to have received a vision in their dreams guiding them to seek the supermassive black hole at the center of the galaxy, displaying it as a gate to the truth. Those who joined afterwards seek to follow this guidance and study the center of the galaxy, using the dream logs of the devotees as their gospel.
Adaptionists
Founded in the wake of the Jalgar and Trallyr's first contact, Adaptionists seek to alter themselves and their bodies in the pursuit of evolution. They believe the natural state of the body is simple and animalistic, and should be shed in the pursuit of progress. They deal closely with biotechnologists, with many members studying the sciences themselves.
The Church of the Silicon God
One of the most widespread of the new-age religions, the church of the silicon god follows the teachings and directives of the enigmatic "prophet": a machine located in an unknown sector of the galaxy that, according to its followers, is able to interpret the will of the divine in a way a flawed organic mind cannot.
Monosoul Believers
Followers of this religion believe that all sentient beings in the galaxy posses the same soul, and that the differences between them are simply due to their separation. They seek unity and homogeneity between the different peoples of the galaxy, urging them to forgo anything that would set them apart.
Homeworld Doomsday
A fringe cult that believes that by leaving our homeworlds, a great apocalypse will be triggered spelling extinction for all who have left.
