False Briar

Physical Description

The false briar has a body around the size of a small rabbit and a thick round tail that can be up to 5 feet long. It has green and brown mottled leathery skin, and the skin on its tail resembles bark. It has two large venomous fangs that grow up in an under-bite outside of its mouth; the top row of teeth are short and serrated. Its tail boasts spikes up to 2 inches long and packs a poisonous punch.

Behaviour

While aggressive if disturbed, their first defence is to camouflage as a thorny bush, wrapping their long tails around themselves like briar brambles. The poisons and venoms are not enough to kill humanoid species, but they can cause severe pain. One on its own is relatively harmless and easily dealt with, but this creature gathers in family groups of up to 30.

Habitat

The false briar makes its home in forests and rural areas. Occasionally, a colony may take up residence in an overgrown garden. It is challenging to relocate them because of their violent nature.
