Merit of Terra

The Merit of Terra is a Departmento Munitorum award, presented to units of the Imperial Guard and Imperial Navy who have voluntarily postponed their own demobilization, thus serving much longer than expected. It is seen as a sign of loyalty and self-sacrifice, which all Imperial military personnel respect, reportedly even Space Marines

Significance

In game terms, any unit which has participated in 10 or more narrative campaign/crusade games will be awarded this medal

This is seen as an uncommon award which, like many others, in light of the resultant effects of both the Great Rift and the Indomitus Crusade, is becoming more and more common amongst the Imperial Navy and Astra Militarum

Suspended from a simple steel bar, the blue and green ribbon holds a circular medallion with a brass skull and wreath embossed on it, symbolising loyalty to the Emperor and the bravery to remain an active member of the military
