Elothanis
The Elothanis, also known as the Thedetoz (Enari: /θɛdɛtʊz/, lit. "people"), or simply Thanin, are a species of humanoid with largely reptilian features including scales, tails, and claws. They are sometimes confused with certain subspecies of Melgma Sthrenborn, however they have completely different heritages. They are primarily found within the territories of Nova Thania, though some venture beyond their homeland.

History
The Thanin have a rich and impactful history, though as is the case with much of history in the Sky, the lines between myth and truth are vague and nigh non-existent. According to official statements, the Thanin were all but extinct, with only one of their kin remaining as an immortal by the name of Silekis Lathe. In her legend, after learning that she was immortal and seeing her loved ones die as she lived on, she went on a long journey. The tales diverge, some claiming she sought the land of the dead to find her lost love. Others claim she sought the gift of immortality for more of her people that she may have an eternal friend. Regardless of the version, she returns empty handed. When she does, she finds none of her kind. She looks for years upon years, but finds no trace. She comes up with a plan, and forges the Machine Gods. Sacrificing her life and the immortal spark, she gives true life and divinity to the gods and finally passes on to the next world for ever to watch over her people. The Machine Gods then took her body and blood, and from it they made flow her kin, her people. With the gift she had given them, they breathed life into the newborn mortals, born as fully grown men and women, who would go on to repopulate the land with their kin.
The mythological histories continue, through heroes and heavenly kings until the line between legend and reality is clear once more. The recorded, real history of the Thanin accounts for around the last 500 standard years. It chronicles the rise of separate kingdoms and factions among them, their encounters with different species, as well as their first two empires, a number of wars, and finally the unification under the new empire, expansion, and revolution into a republic.
