Kshatra
Yazat Kshatra
Dominion of God; the Call of the Moon
Yazat Kshatra is the angel of dominion. He is the summons of God, the angel that blows the horns of life and death. He is thought of as the entity that imbues the individual with spirit, and by doing so, ties us to Masd; in turn, when we die, it is Kshatra who returns us to Masd. Since he is thought of as the first and last angel we are touched by in life, he is often thought of as the keeper of Masd's domain. He is often prayed to by artists and musicians, poets and storytellers; both the mourning of loss and the celebration of life are part of his nature, and Kshatra is often thought of as a dichotomy of strict adherence to Masd's law, and the beauty that can be felt in Masd's creation. For reasons unclear, the Masdayasni scriptures references him as living upon the moon.
