Grand Master Emfeng Murcwurm, The Twice-Shed

Is a Gnome Rogue/Monk, and one of many sons of a prominent merchant family. In fact the only merchant family of Gnomes in the entire city of Vulk, his family owes their success to their mysterious patron. A patron that often sends the members of their family on strangely specific tasks and missions.
After rescuing Vezra from her slavery in a fire giant smithery, he traveled with her as his body guard on one of these missions. A trip to The Watchful hold, to observe. Along the way he and his tentative companion met Astér1, and the three made their way to the hold as a group. He, along with his group, take up posts as covert agents under Vandros. Archmage of The Watchful Hold.
Shortly after their first official mission, they are dispatched once again, this time across the continent. The group is sent to Allm Themar under the guise as official emissaries to the city, with Vandros' true purpose remaining a mystery. While in Allm Themar he would meet distant cousins of his father and make acquaintance with them.
On their second assignment, this time to Dhalid City, Emfeng's family name was recognized by the military advisor to The Emperor. An Orc by the name of Maximus. It was during this same assignment, while in the vaults of a previous emperor, that Emfeng bartered for possession of a strange magical cloak from a man only identified as "The Collector". This cloak had a strange connection to Emfeng's family patron, and served as a conduit for their further dealings and missions, even urging Emfeng to seek out dragons while in the feywild and claim their scales.
It was also in Dhalid City, while dealing with specters of connection from allies' own pasts that Emfeng was temporarily killed, though his undead nature brought him back rather quickly, along with aide from his patron.
Emfeng continued to make eventual progress towards freeing his patron, culminating in the contact directly within the shadowfell. Here he was driven against the party and later chose to leave to further follow his patron's will even after being turned away for failing to free him. This included working against the party and aiding Nezzeroth.
When he later found out that Bruzan planned to sacrifice his younger brother to fuel his escape from the Shadowfell, Emfeng turned against his former patron and rejoined the party. He asked their help in taking him down, and destroyed several members of his family that aided the dragon while rescuing as many others as he could. Emfeng then sought out assistance from the pantheon and any powers he could find to help in slaying the shed scale.
Before he could do so however, his party found themselves on a brief sojourn in the Abyss fighting the Demon Lords of the Seven Sins. During their fight with Sathanas, the Demon of Wrath, Emfeng was slain for a second time. This second death happened to be more permanent, as the soul of Emfeng was transported to the domains of dread. He was there trained by a cult of Vecna the whispered one. Given the opportunity to kill a demi-god, his only payment being a promise of draconic essence to the lich-god of secrets.
