Berenhard is a former (and current?) pirate that struck in with the party to gather his power and help by taking down the pirate lord Cinder Scale. The party succeeded, and Beren became the new pirate lord, captaining the ship the party comandeered, The Scylla, as well as the Scarlet Scale, the former flagship of the burning fleet. Making him an Admiral in the span of a few days.
