Theodora an Thanicce

And I will remind you, Lord Umacchi, that our first duty is to serve the great nation of Ethoressi with all our wisdom and power and property we have! And have we not learned from the great tragedy of Ethoras, the nation is not its noble rulers but the people living, working, suffering and rejoicing within this great nation? Should it not be true, that all our efforts need to be on the plights of the common man, working for the benefit of the nation - as well as the entrepreneur with the idea that created opportunities for everybody?

We must not lose sight of the common man, Lord Umacchi, lest we are nothing more the greedy lords doomed to fail as Ethoras did before.
Excerpt of the defining speech by Countess Thanicce
Days before the vote to her societal reforms was denied the first time.

Countess Thanicce is the current leader of the noble houses in Ethoressi, despite her young age. She followed on her families' permanent noble council seat after her father tragically succumbed to the Greybone Dementia. Within three years she managed to ascend to the leader of the joined council and therefore leader of all noble houses, through charismatic, intelligent, and empathic politics, securing her overwhelmingly large support in the common council.

Her main efforts as council leader were to improve the social and financial situations of the common worker, both Ethoressian and foreign, such as the migrating orcen population. Theodora tried to achieve these improvements with council politics at first, but her proposals were all denied three times and led to several tries to relieve her of her office.

In the following years, she became an outspoken and prominent leader of the worker's movement, even after their actions have become increasingly violent. Theodora's main stance in this regard is her representing the moderate part of a just movement, keeping the door open for political progress. Due to the support of the common council, she is still leading the joined council. In protest, several nobles have resigned and formed an illegitimate counter-council, apparently supported by representatives of Keandra.
