Deiticon

If you ask any priest, what is the most influential text of all religion, that would be the Deiticon, a collection of texts from around of the time of the Ruling of Coexistence.

At that time, all four races were locked in wars, feuds and complete misstrust, fueled by petty leaders and heavy discussion about who is the leading moral instance of the gods (since every race had a different patron deity).

It came down to the gods actually coming back down to the mortal plane, ending the wars first through four messengers and then stepping in personally, judging the instigators of constan misstrust and war themeselves. (It actually was a disappointment-and-rage-fueled blood bath that the later developing texts describing the events did their best to cover up as justified).

The whole Deiticon contains a lot of parables and accounts of actual events jumbled together. It ultimately is an explantion of WHY the gods intervened, WHAT they demand from the mortals considering their moral behavior and HOW they were allowed to ever again resolve conflict between races - which boiled down to "don't even think about it, all the races are equal."

While a nice idea and often cited in diplomatic circles and religious discussion, the mortals still manage to actually fight (and war) over the concrete meaning of the Deitcon, for instance when it comes to conduct between the races, what the gods plan is for the world and especially why and how explictely the Deitcon states, that the humans have the favor of the whole panteon now and how this relates to thet "all races are to be seen as brethren" part.

Despite several events after the Ruling of Coexistence happened that would be a clear violation of the Deiticon, the gods never again intervend on such a grand scale and left the judgement of the agitators to the mortals.
