Badlands Dwarves
Badlands dwarves are an ancestry that can be found in and around the Habera Mountains in the Menoroth Desert. Their major settlement is Axum, though there are also nomadic communities found throughout the desert.
Waterwise: You are proficient in Survival or Investigation (your choice), and have advantage on checks using this skill to find water. You are also capable of surviving without water longer than most humanoids; you can survive an amount of days equal to 1 plus your Constitution modifier before you need water.
Locate Potable Water: When you reach six character levels, you are able to magically sense the number, size and location of bodies of water within a mile radius of your location. Once you are within 30ft of a body of water, you can tell whether the water is drinkable. If it is not drinkable, you can sense the reason, such as salt, poison, infectious organisms, or magic.
Resilient: You are resistant to fire damage, as well as any nonmagical damage incurred by physical effects of the desert (sandstorms, etc).
Sandcunning: Whenever you make an Intelligence check regarding architecture or infrastructure of desert settlements or information about other prominent desert locations, you have Expertise for the purpose of your check. You may use this as an alternative ability to Stonecunning in the PHB.
