The Shards of Glory

Long ago a Tyranical Conquerer by the name of Zarazad (Tsar-A-Tsad) met his end on the battlefield. It is rumored that when he died his soul passed into his enchanted weapon, known only by it's name, "Glory". To prevent Zarazad's return, his enemies shattered his weapon and scattered it's pieces across the lands. Occasionally adventurer's will stumble upon The Shards of Glory, gaining great power from them. Many have embarked on quests to reunite the shards, in pursuit of it's full power. But Whenever a potential seeker of the shards gets close, something or someone stops them, and scatters the shards once again.
There are many rumors as to the power of the shards. Some say those who stumble into these artifacts are mentored by whispers of the fragmented spirit of Zarazad himself. Others say the fragements have a mind of their own, and exert their power to draw proven warriors to them. But why do the fragments, or those who carry them, always march to Glory's Reassembly? Would the weapon re-forged herald the return of Zarazad himself? Or would it herald the rise of something worse? Thankfully none have yet been able to solve this mystery, and hopefully no one ever will.
