The Legend of Coneach 'The Black Mist' Gall of The Gravellow Atoll
Coneach Gall was an ambitious Airelsat, unusually good with current magic, he became a ______ (navigator + magic motor) at the young age of 13 years old, having quickly learned how to navigate.
He quickly worked his way up the ranks and had enough money to buy his own ship by the age of 18, a mere 5 years later. After a few years of running cargo, Coneach Gall started to get board with merely running cargo, and hired a crew to go off exploring instead. Most Aierlsat were not interested at all, but he was able to convince a few, and fill the rest of his crew with Sanyadarishya after making one final run. Buying plenty of food and water, and managing to hire a couple, a physicist, Amearyn Truth-Seeker, who claimed to have calculated that there must be much more planet than just Ashoya and Klocios, who was in love with a cartographer, Narrbree Itaron, of Krumawen. They set off towards the equator and east (South East from Ashoya). Additionally, he hired a few mercenaries.
Supposedly, they were the first people to discover The Serene Key, but as they continued east, the managed to spot the Gravellow Atoll and decided to get closer and map it. On discovering only one way to sail in, and the The Gleaming Atoll, Coneach Gall vowed to come back there and found a great port. However, there was something else he was looking for.
The Atoll provided the perfect opportunity for a base, secretly wanting to become a privateer or even pirate seeking to earn money much faster than he could going back and forth and all around the land he was already so familiar with. He asked his crew how they would feel about becoming the best pirates in the sea.
No one knows this place even exists, if they can't find ya, they can't hang ya, we will become legends, and richer than heckHe spent the next month setting up a small fortress cutting down trees, and making another smaller sail boat to reach The Gleaming Atoll for water, then set back out to start capturing ships, and recruiting a pirate crew. One of his best crew members quickly became Aruna 'Mistwalker' Advaria, an adventurous white-furred Tovengaranian Sanyadarishya, who was particularly good with heat and water, and had figured out how to make large mists. Although Coneach Gall was given the moniker, it was really Aruna 'Mistwalker' Advaria who was responsible for the black mist the crew became famous for along with some light magic around the edges.
Historical Basis
When the Gravellow Atoll was rediscovered, there were in fact signs of a large fortress near the entrance to the atoll, and the wreckage of several ships. It's speculated that although some details may have been changed, romanticized, or just made up, there was likely really was a Coneach Gall that harassed the seas.
