Osebert

Capitol of The Republic of Sporaria, and a large port in The Serene Key. Located at the end of ____ sound, this location became a popular port, sheltered from the sea and easily defensible from pirates, which were a concern when it was founded, and still are today.

Demographics

There's a good mix of Sanyadarishya and Airelsat, however there are more Airelsat than Sanyadarishya because they founded the city and The Republic of Sporaria, and sent envoys to major Sanyadarishya cities.

Government

There is a town council, that's legally required to be made of equally Sanyadarishya and Airelsat that runs a lot of the city itself, in addition to the port management.

Defences

Large towers out in the water with a chain that can be raised to protect the port and stop unwanted ships. Additionally there are 2 forts farther up the sound along the shore meant to protect the town.

Industry & Trade

Osebert is a popular stop for traders going between Sanyadarishya and Airelsat lands bringing cultural goods, stone, and more from both places to trade for spices and other crops that aren't native to either land.

Infrastructure

There are many docks around the coast, and paved roads inside the main city.

Lots of spices grown on the islands, and river access for shipping in spice via small boats from farms near by to the East.

Architecture

There's a mix of marble/stone made by the Airelsat, often with shallow underground parts like were more common in Airelsat lands. Meanwhile, Sanyadarishya make taller wooden houses with stone bases (stone can be magically enchanted to be sturdier than the wood, but wood still holds cultural significance to them).
