Markus Tyran
Scribe Markus Tyran
Markus was a renown Scribe from the Northern Colony and creator of the Tyrian Calendar.
Markus was born in 4 BCE in the Northern Colony. His parents are unknown, due to him being left at the colonies Child Minder's door in the middle of the night. At the age of 4, he was brought along with Team Alpha as part of The Rebuild process.
At age 8, Markus was placed in Unity Port's first school. Over the next 10 years, Markus had shown proficiency in Advanced Mathematics and Astronomy. He had also picked up lapidary as a hobby and became transfixed with the study of the local mineral deposits. This led to being accepted as a Scribe, working to study old world artifacts.
In 35 CE, Markus submitted his modern calendar to The Collective. Seeing as there had been no decided way of tracking days or historical events, Markus spent the past year developing his calendar and estimating dates for pre-rebuild. The calendar was widely praise and became the official calendar of The Collective nearly immediately.
Markus was murdered on the 8th of Calcite, 39 CE by blunt force trauma in his home in Unity Port. His current Astronomy research papers had been stolen, leading people to believe the murder was due to an arguement over the calendar. No assailant was ever discovered.
In response to the murder, to honor the works of Markus, The Collective officially named the calendar the "Tyrian Calendar" and declared the 8th of Calcite a holiday. His house was converted into a small dormatory for promising Scribes.
