This creature seems attracted to magic casters, absorbing there magic after killing them by seemingly drinking it from there bodies using its long spiked swordfish like bill. Stabbing straight into the bodies, they are left to look like husks once consumed. This ability seems to also apply to certain magical gear as i saw it attack a set of bagpipes capable of summoning swarms of rats. Drinking it until the color left the leather and the horns began to crack.

Temperament

Cruel, cunning and vengful are the three words that best describe this creature. I watched as it planned out, spurring random creatures to attack us, watching as we were wittled down in supplies. First my companion Long Croaker would vanish, our strongest druid. We never heard a single sound as the creature swooped in, drank its fill and then disposed of him into a tree for us to witness. As we looked on in horror having just vanquished yet another magical beast. The creature would strike once more, as we looked on in horror at Long Croaker's deflated body, our friend an annis hag named Prescha would be next. As if a small wind had blown by, she was gone without a sound and later found without any fluids to her body. From here we chose to escape, though I must admit that Dakka Jr known as Little D would trip in our escape and sadly not be recovered. I alone escaped with our research and notes, the creature the most aggressive of all apex monsters.

Special qualities

Copycat:
Capable of copying both spells and stance's this creature is known to be able to fight toe to toe with even the strongest warblades and sorcerors. Capable of throwing back anything that it has dished out to it, we attempted to see if the creature could copy the rage of a well trained barbarian fighter. To our dismay this seems to include feats and spell like abilities, the creature raged right back and took out nearly the entire team.

Known Weaknesses

It seems to have a shedding that it does annually like any other aboleth. The creature also when it dies passes its memories onto its next of kin, which means that if you time this right. When the creature passes on to old age, the next generation should be well within the grasp of average adventurers. But I honestly hold little hope this beast will be slain.

An item said to match the first lich's notes for the understanding and history of the process of becoming a lich. However, this book is written in a strange language called Slaadi which I believe is a mix of ancient abyssal and a forgotten tongue of another race. Theorized to be the hag's original tongue in the clouded age. This book though is also believed to grant the user the pinnacle of all necromancy magic. Allowing one an understanding of necromancy that only those who have become undead could. Granting powers without causing you to turn undead, this book is believed to hold the secrets to a true lich that none have yet to find.

History

Though I am unsure of its origin, this creature seems to be a descendant of the one seen in the siege of Gemcutter's Port in 69,009. The creature is noted to have a large orb of what I believe to be a blue death ore material that transmits like a scrying spell. Though to whom, we were unable to learn as the creature was quite fast and violent. What can be confirmed is the creatures deep hatred for a group known as the Cryptic Kabal, as the creature seems to telepathically link with its victims before killing them. Searching there minds for memories, and causing the victim to shout out there names. I must say, as an apex monster researcher and hunter this is one of the few creatures I would hate to be on the bad side of.

It now spends its days in the southern territory of Drafika fighting for dominance against the god like beings and the apex monster that had taken up nesting in the area. Though they do not seem to be avidly hunting one another, the couatl has been seen with serious wounds upon its body since the creatures arrival into its territory. It is my belief that Zyglorathax has beaten the couatl into submission and is using it now to spawn greater beasts. As the large and foreign looking eggs in the creatures nest would suggest.
