HIS MOM?!?!?!?

I plop onto my ass and start to heal myself as best I can. I then suggest to the others that I hide and move silently ahead and scout out what I can see for safer travel. As I wait for their response, all I can hear is sand and water. Vikeret all of a sudden says there is a time limit for us in this dungeon. Then Doots informs us if we make a contract with him he can get us out of here. Then the ground starts to shake and shift and the floor drops from under us. After the ground stops moving, I sneak ahead and see a split statue of a purple giant in a green toga in the next room. Again the floor shifts and then the others join me. Vikeret moves ahead in to the room and finds some writing on the back of the chair the giant is sitting on.   Those who stand, Fall. Those who Look up, end up down. And those who do not Listen, Find themselves without a light.   Once again we all feel the floor shake and drop another level, and the sound of gears grinding can be heard now. As the floor is dropping a mummy flies up into the air from the water canal in the room. When the floor stops the mummy falls to the floor and dies. As I look behind the chair I find a loose stone and see some gears of some kind under it with weird writing on it. I let Doots and Vikeret know and then go to the entrance and guard the room.   Out of no where I hear and see dust and metal moving around, when Raider appears. Raider joins the rest and says he can get us out of here, but needs a door first. All of a sudden he makes a door and a way out appears that requires us to climb. As I climb, I make to much noise and looking down I see a Massive Pit Fiend that throws a huge Fireball our direction and luckily it misses us. Then the tomb drops without stopping and lands on the Pit Fiend and crashing into the ground below. Then darkness and loud screams come from below. Dang the Underddark.   Finally after a long climb we make it out to the top where the golden doors into the dungeon have disappeared. While above Raider starts to question Doots about what happened below. Doots using his ability to tell a story in our favour for more renown causes me to have one word replies as running commentary. After Doots gives me a very disgusted look I say I am going to go to the guard shack and get some potions and things. As I walk away my true pain and fatgue catch up to me as my shoulders droop. Azuris slaps my back, healing me a bit, surprising me and handing me a bottle of rum. A little later I hear Azuris running up to catch up to me and I jump and turn in place, so as not to be slapped again. He pats me on the shoulder with more healing. Sharing the rum we go to the shack, Doots and Vikeret joining us a few minutes later. Nearing the shack I see that there are two new guards, Old Wolf's Head was sent on a new mission. Asking for potions the blue skinned and white haired guard, Wolf's Junior, Old Wolf's Head grandson, places 4 potions in front of me. One is blue, one is green, and two are pale. I buy all of them for 2SP and hand them off to Vikeret for investigation.   Doots tells a merry story of our exploits to the guards, that I do not even dare say a word about. After which Wolf's Junior says he is a better bard than Old Wolf, who never wanted to be a bard, and will share this tale every chance he gets. Vikeret shares some notes on potion making with Wolf Jr. and I dread his first potion with all the notes Jr keeps writing on the recipe.   We head over to the location where Driver and Fluffy should be, and to my surprise I see them still there and eating tons of Apples. We all get on the cart and I am able to sit with Driver up front but say nothing the entire trip as Driver is not the talkative type. As we near the town of Nitton, I am able to see many more people there out and about than when we left. It seems there is a festivity going on because Regis Uthem is expecting another child. As we depart the wagon I hand Driver a GP and see that her looks have changed: Brown hair and eyes, Elven ears, Dark skin. A cannible type elf savage species. And that type of elf is not known to travel, when all of a sudden Driver and Fluffy disappear. Vikeret then tries to take the apples that are left behind and I say no touchy as we should not accidently upset them.   We all head to the Inn and find a huge crowd celebrating. Drekken gives us all drinks and takes our order after we are able to find a table.I ask to speak to Doots in private. So we head upstairs to his room and I ask him for clarification on how I should word my report to Regis Uthem about our time in the tomb so as not to contradict his sharing of our adventure. After he gives me an abridged version of our time in the tomb to report, we leave the room and find a: 8ft Tall Grey and black eyes and skin Silver hair Female Heavy Armor Blackened lips Large cloak like Driver's VALTHANA DOOTS' MOM WHAT HUH WHAT WHO ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?   Explosions go off. She is unimpressed with Doots. Doots cast a spell that misses her and hits a Giant waitress and gets the attention of a Giant bystander getting angry with Doots. Doots and his Mom have a conversation of disappointment and hate and death and who knows what. She disappears, Doots changes his appearance again, to Jack the dwarf. I meet the others and scarf down my food and telling them we need to leave and go to the ship to meet Doots now. I quickly give a note to Drekken to give to Regis Uthem.   As we walk to the ship I inform the others on what happened upstairs and am still in disbelief of it all. On the ship the Troll guard says he has a note that he read that was addressed to us and given to him by a bird which he hands over to Vikeret to read.   I apologize for the sudden departure, but I must deal with something alone. I don't know when I'll be back, so from now on you should continue doing quests and building renown. Signed Doots

We Fight Sand and Dust

Everyone and everything is waking up and starting their day, as I am still hidden in an abandoned building. As I see Azuris leave the ship I follow 5 steps behind, as we head towards the Inn. Draconis, Doots in disguise, suggests we take the Tomb of the Lost Lord quest. He adds the following notes about the place:
  • There are statues inside
  • There is an unknown hoard of treasure
  • It has blue glowing poison water
  • There are an unknown amount of traps most likely in it
  • Current owner is unknown
  • Previous owner is believed to be a fiend lord
  • Most likely there are many fiends inside
  • Doots disguised as Draconis turns into a Snowbeard "Jack Astors", We then get into a discussion about using poles or balls to find and set off any possible traps in the tomb, which then leads to a discussion of how to kill fiends. I ask Drekken to borrow a wagon, and suggest it is a mission for Uthem. I also ask Drekken about some fire bombs or anything similar. He says that fire bombs have been outlawed in these lands for a long time due to the Druids and Uthem not liking things to be set on fire. But he does suggest we go to the Crossed Candles store and see what we can get there. So Azuris, "Jack", and I go there, and after some much talking and haggling, we decide to not buy anything.   As we return to the Inn, the wagon is outside waiting for us, and looks to be being pulled by a large blue Boar, named "Fuzzy". The driver, named "Driver", is about 3ft tall, white and pink hair, blue skin, green eyes, has an attitude, and says she is nothing more than a slave. through out the journey she comes to very much dislike Azuris as he keeps pestering her with questions she does not want to answer. In the end she casts a cone of silence around us so she does not have to hear him anymore. And I learn the Fuzzy is a slow starter but can move over 40 miles per hour.   We arrive at our destination and I am able to speak with "Driver" and thank her as well as Fuzzy and thank him. Azuris blunders some more and makes Fuzzy tip over which makes "Driver" like him even less. We then head off to the garrison guarding the Tomb. There we see three Giants, one of which I recognize as "Old Wolf's Head" from years ago. He welcomes us and guides us to the entrance of the Tomb. On the way he mentions stories about what has happened to different adventurers attempting to enter the Tomb. One of these stories he mentions a little girl with white and pink hair making it to the bottom of the stairs without any issues. So I quickly excuse myself and run back, pausing at the garrison to get apples, and continue to the wagon.   I ask "Driver" about the stories and she says that she has heard them as well but it is not her and no she does not having weird dreams that would make someone think she has a split personality or curse. So I give her and Fuzzy the apples to enjoy and say we will all return later, which she asks if Azuris can not return. As I return it seems that Vikeret and Doots, oops, Vikeret and "Jack" have found out and solved the magical entrance issue. Where a riddle becomes known:   For those who enter and those who are greedy, Do not fear, for I offer you the chance to have what is mine. Take what is greatest to me and place it upon my dream, And I shall reward you with the chance to become GODS, or DEVILS. (I HATE YOU DM)   Azuris floats down to the bottom followed by Vikeret then "Jack" and myself. As we are decending, the doors behind start to close and I hear Old Wolf's Head say, "It's never done that before!?!" And just as the doors clang closed the runes on the walls change:   Blessed was the reign, For those willing to take the chance, Blessed will be the fall, For all those who wish they had listened, Dreams and ambitions, Gods and worship, All who enter, Prove your worth or fall to the depths.   After hearing this I get ready for a fight and go to the next set of stair and can hear some sort of moaning noise coming from below. In this room there is a doorway leading to another room with a set of stairs leading down and a third rooom through another doorway also with a set of stairs leading down. Before I can go the stairs, Vikeret grabs my should to hold me still and suggests we do soomething with the block of wood in the ceiling. Doots, now in his true form, blast the block making it fall. Just as I take my first step on the stairs down, sand starts pouring in from the hole in the ceiling, so I speed up my pace to the bottom. As I enter this new room a can see a large block of stone with water weirdly flowing over and around it, on either side of it a statues of Imps the seem to look like they are pouring something on to the block but nothing is flowing out of their cups. At the other end of the long wide room, as I near the mid point, I can see that there is another set of three path to take. Now deciding to using the rule of right path, I turn down the right path and see 5 Mummies ahead. I am unable to attack the nearest Mummy but I am able to intimidate them all with my ROAR.   Alas, my roar did get the attention of a Mummy Ogre, unbeknownst to me. The Ogre attacks Azuris and hurts him pretty badly. As I am now having to deal with five Mummies wailing on me with their fists. I have taken the first beating that took half my strength and life force. As Doots is able to attack the Ogre and draw it's attention away fro Azuris. I am now able to get my true bearing and attack the nearest Mummy in front of me. Again the Mummies continue to wail punches on me as Vikeret is able to cast a spell and weaken one of the Mummies, I am able to kill two of them. Doots has slain the Mummy Ogre and also helps me by killing one of the Mummies near me. I am then able to focus, with 3/4 of my life force gone, on the last two Mummies and destroy them with a fantastic flourish.   As Vikeret announces that the Tomb houses about 1000 times more magic strength than the monsters we just killed.

    Fake Tired

We arrived in the early morning in the Harbor of the City of Noten, a small town with cool weather and snow in the distance. After months at sea it is good to be on land again. I received 11,721 GP and 4 CP as payment for the time at sea, and waiting for more after the sale of all the goods we obtained at sea. I plan to go into town and pass on the information about the bottle to a contact that can get word to Uthem directly. I also hope to get information from the contact about good places to sell our goods in this town.   After receiving my payment I want to town looking for the Uthem mercenary symbol. I found it quickly on the wall of an Inn. walking inside I see it is busy and manned/run by a Faircocrine named "Drekken the Forgotten". He imforms me of the name of the Inn being "Last Fire Inn". I quickly pass on all the information I have about the ship in the bottle, and then ask about places to sell our goods.   Cross Candle run by "Jocks" a Kobold Name & Scroll run by "Nanin" a Vikinger Frozen Grove run by "Illard the Shaven" The Inn I am currently at Grahls old shop run by "Bronze" an Arikaken   After getting the information, I order a bowl of wolf stew and an ale. Listening in to the conversation around me, I hear about Arctic Wolves in the area and that the weather is being nice this time of year. I start to act as if dozing off.   Doots joins in the Inn and starts to play music on the small stage, improving the mood. Cpt. Azuris and Vikeret join later on, sitting at my table. There is much conversation around me as I "doze".   Ulk, an Orc/Goblin Mutation joins our table. All of a sudden he jumps on the table and looking at me says I am a believer and I will be fighting.   A mystical voice from above, DM, commands that I go back to sleep.   Inn a sleepy daze I shout "I am Saige Fuentes!" and doze off again.   I am startled awake from Drekken trying to take some money from my pocket. I say "Ship, Hammock", as I wonder off in the direction of the ship.   I have faked being asleep and found a good location to hide and watch the Ship and the Inn at the same time.

    Another Big Ship, Oh Boy.

It has been two months. The winds are heavy and cold. Everything on and in the ship is chilly and slick. Everyone seems on edge and is easily irritated. I have been going back and forth between the two ships, where Clack's Heart seems very much calmer and more relaxed. A Troll comes below decks and informs Cpt. Azuris of a ship a half days travel away. Cpt. Azuris starts monologuing about hating Crowns and Leaders of Countries. He wants to sell the bottle to the merchant ship in the distance. He wants to meet with them to see what they will offer for it.   As we go above deck, we can see that the merchant ship has gained great speed and is heading towards us. A shadowy figure all of a sudden appears next to the Captain, and I dash to his side. Cpt. Azuris holds up his hand to stop as the Captain asks if the figure comes from the ship in the distance. "Raider", looks like a Merfolk to me but turns out to be a Triton, says he is exploring all over and we are strange and he has been on the other ship with a big pale scary man on it. He agrees to the Captain's offer of joining us for some shinies. I greet "Raider" and pat him on the same shoulder as he pats me on. Raider then pokes Vikeret, which causes Vikeret to stop shivering from the cold.   I go back to helping the crew maintaining and working the ship. Doots has found me and asks if I can read the cover of a book he is holding. Alas, I could not read the language but gave Doots the scroll of Identify I have. I continue to the kitchen with my two frozen buckets of tar, to warm them. As I drink some water I can see Doots waving the scroll and muttering to it, "Bad Scroll". He then walks over to me and says it did not work. I try it and also did not succeed. I go back to waiting for the tar to warm up.   After 45 minutes of warming the tar it is finally able to be used. I quickly take the two buckets top side and hand one over to the nearest Troll and tell him to start on the ropes on the port side while I will treat all the ropes on the starboard side. As I am applying the tar, I see Doots talking to the book he showed me earlier. I ask if he is ok, and his response is, "Krump is sooooo Orange." he then asks me about a Bjara. that reminds me of a list of 9 items that I was shown to look for. "Ancient spell book captures Fey to revitalize Nation, "ARAJB" is the name of the book" I say to Doots.   MEMORY: The list of 9 shown to me: Book of Arajb Wolfbane Thousand Face Staff of a Hundred Worlds Unknown Shield (Broken) 4 more Items   The merchant ship has closed in to a communication distance and has agreed to near for possible trade. A large man shirtless and 9ft tall, a Goliath, looks pissed. Goose is his name, and the Kryptic Cabal has dealt with him in the past. SHIT ! He is a rude, self absorbed, full of himself, and aggressive. I cast discern alignment on him, Lawful Evil.   Goose is trying to egg everyone on to be the ones to start a fight with him, as if he is not allowed to start a fight but really wants one. Goose does agree to the 750,000 GP price for the ship in a bottle that Cpt. Azuris asks for. He then asks me to go below and get 5 barrels of drink. I come back above deck with the 5 barrels and two messages for the Captain. "Krump is being served poison again" and "Captain stop taking all the booze"   Something in my notes about comedy with Captain Azuris and my Tar hands.   Goose returns with a chest full of money as Captain Azuris gives a barrel of booze to Goose. Doots tests the coin as Vikeret appraises them for authenticity. Goose knows our other ship is currently raiding his ship from underneath, and tells us to stop now. We are luckily not drawn into a fight as our ships part from each other and the merchant ship moves away at high speed.   Off in the great distance a Yeti is seen running on the ocean waves.   We have a vast haul.

Big Ship and Little Ship Issues

Two months after becoming a fleet, on a rainy day with the temperature starting to drop, we see a three decker ship heading towards us. Capt. Azuris has our second ship dive underwater and be on standby to assist. As we near the three decker, we can hear their Captain call to us to identify ourselves. Capt. Azuris returns the request with a call for them to surrender and hand over their loot. Their reply is to open their gun ports and we start the ship game of cat and mouse. We are able to be the first to fire a catapult shot, alas it misses. Their return volley of balista shots, six of them, three hit us. I go and check the damage they have caused seeing they are above sea level on our ship and call below to start readying for repairs.   Vikeret and I are able to take control of one of our balistas and return fire. on our second shot, Vikeret sets the shot on fire and we hit their main sails, catching them on fire. On their deck we can see them frantically waving and hollering at us. Capt. Azuris calls to hold fire as he calls over to parley with them.   All of a sudden a fifteen foot tall creature appears on their deck, oh shit it's Gregs Maritam. All of a sudden I feel a wave of magic come over me and I no longer want to fight the ship, but want to protect Gregs Maritam. Vikeret and I both turn the balista away from the ship.   Capt. Azuris walks on the air to their ship and has a discussion. Upon his return, he does not look pleased at all and apologizes to us all for having us attack Gregs Maritam's ship. I go below to assist with repairs and to see if I can recover any of the balista bolts from the side of our ship.   After an hour or so of repairs, I go relax with the crew and inspect the whiskey barrels. All of a sudden Doots' voice can be heard yelling "KRUMP!" So I stop drinking, I mean guarding the barrels and go to search for Krump below decks.   After hearing some shouting and a minor explosion come from above deck, I go running top side to investigate. I can see Vikeret and Doots on the stern of the ship looking over the edge. I go running over and look as well, just in time to see Capt. Azuris pull Krump into his Captain's Quarters. Capt. Azuris is yelling something about mutiny and killing his first-mate Krump.   All of the Troll crew start to arm themselves and Doots and Vikeret are somewhat surrounded by them as they approach the Captain's Quarters. The shouting, screaming, yelling match starts between Doots, Capt. Azuris, and Vikeret. All that can be heard throughout all of this is: Krump is a self serving thief, No he isn't, Doots is going to kill Krump, The bottle with the ship in it is an artifact, Vikeret is ready to kill Krump, It can and will destroy us all, The ship has some sort of entity on it, It will destroy the world, Krump does not listen to the Captain, Krump is selfish.   Capt. Azuris wants to forgive all and says to Krump that if he ever sees him with the bottle he will regret his life's choices. At this I walk below decks to get a drink and hope to forget this all.   Krump comes below after some time and sits away from Doots, Vikeret, and Myself seeming to be wary of us all. I decide to have an open conversation with Krump and bring him a watered down mug of whiskey. As I hand the mug over and sit across from him, I ask "Why does the bottle keep showing up in your hands?"   "I know it is a dangerous item, and I want to get it off the ship and sell it. Then I can go and buy another ship and give the "SS Krump" to the Captain." "SS Krump? I thought you could come up with a better name than that. Like "Krump's Rump." ""Rump Krump", I am a genius for coming up with that name." He replies. "Can you do me a Favor?" "Ask what you will and I will tell you if I am willing to do it." "I want you to get the bottle in your hands after we make land fall, so I can take the bottle from you and therefore not be taking the bottle from the Captain." "If it so happens that after we dock, that the bottle is in my hands and then gone from my hands, Oh Well."   Krump then tells me of his family and how their plans are to get some land in Regis Uthem's lands and the to open and corner a market for massive gains. I am shortly after this called above deck to be on guard duty that night. Nothing happens throughout the night.   The next morning, our sister ship calls for the Captain to inform him of their haul they were able to acquire. As Capt. WaveScales comes aboard, he regales Capt. Azuris of the tale of how he was able to board Gregs Maritam's ship during the commotion and get the loot he is now presenting. I want to board the other ship and ask Capt. Azuris for permission to do so, he agrees to a week. Capt. WaveScales is happy and offers me the First-mate position, when I find out there is NO BOOZE aboard his vessel, and decline the entire offer. I then go below decks and seeing a 5 gallon barrel I come up with a plan. I return above deck with the 5 gallon barrel and ask chef Carask if I can have the barrel, and with his permission, I then ask Capt. WaveScales if he can hold the barrel and only give me one drink an evening to which he agrees. I then ask Capt. Azuris for permission to take the barrel to the other ship and be First-mate there? He does not agree until it is shown that I have a special glass for the evening drink and the barrel is switched with a flask. I then skip happily aboard our sister ship as First-mate with Doots coming along, as He asked to join to cool his head.

    We are a Fleet

So as I wrote in the last entry, we passed by the two warships without engaging them or being engaged. But the Pirate ship is a very different story and outcome than we wanted. At first we thought the 9 foot tall Kobold was the Captain as got nearer.   Capt. Azuris calls for a meet as we near the other Pirate ship, and I go to the bow to be ready for anything. After being on a ship for three months I have gotten somewhat used to be a sailor now, and notice something odd. There is low number of crew on deck for such a large size ship. Only 9 Kobolds are deck. Vikeret apparently has noticed something under their ship, it is another ship underwater.   The 9 foot Kobold calls back to us to come aboard, so Capt. Azuris calls for Vikeret, Doots, and myself to come with him. Our crew of Trolls grabs the gangplank and hooks the two ships together. As we are getting ready to cross, Doots sense unease or a possible trap, so I am alert for anything. As we board the other Pirate ship the 9 foot Kobold says their Captain does not like light, and is waiting in the Captain's room for us. As the door opens an odd feeling washes over me, and I can see through the illusion that was there. Inside are 30 to 40 Thrycrene all very still, and it seems they do not know that we all know they are there. Behind the desk is the Captain's chair turned away. Doots and I stay outside of the Captain's room as Capt. Azuris and Vikeret go inside for discussion of joining together. The Kobolds on the deck are all acting weird and so Doots starts to play a sea shanty. A few minutes later, I hear Capt. Azuris yell for me to get a barrel of booze, and I bang twice on the door as a reply. Walking to the edge of the gang plank I yell over for a Troll to get a 10 gallon barrel of booze for the Captain. He returns all bruised, I bet from the Quarter Master, with the barrel and hands it over to me. As I go to grab the barrel, I whisper to him to have the crew be ready for a possible fight.   I go the doors of the other Pirate Captain's room and kick it twice. Vikeret opens the door and I put the barrel on the ground inside for him, and as he closes the door I keep it slightly ajar. As the door was opened for me, I was able to see the other Pirate Captain, a one-eyed, pale Thrycrene. Apparently the Captains are unable to come to an agreement and a fight breaks out.   As I am facing the Kobolds on the deck I roar, which gets everyone's attention, but none seem intimidated by it. A trance seems to come over me as I brandish my shield and sword, pouncing through the air at the nearest Kobold. As I fly through the air, in a monotone voice I say, "This Instructable will teach you the very basics of hand Embroidery." As I land on the Kobold I double rake him with my hind claws, killing him instantly. All the other Kobolds have falling into a sleeping trance and fallen to the deck. Seeing them no longer as hostile combatants in my trance state, I calmly walk to the Captain's doors and rip them off their hinges. Seeing the pale Thrycrene Captain in his chair, I barely take note of him being on fire. I walk up to the Pale Captain, swing my sword, and remove one of his arms.   Krump, our First-mate, casts a fireball at the barrel of booze, missing it thankfully. But the booze still lights up and blows up the entire room. I am just able to rip a hole in the wall of the back of the Captain's room and dive into the waters below. as I swim back to the surface of the water, the ship that was below the Pirate ship comes up out of the water in-front of me. I swim to it climbing to the deck and check for any hostiles and see none. A wave of exhaustion comes over me as I sheath my weapon and collapse to the deck, lying down and looking up to the sky. I start to laugh about the first fight I have had with the Kryptic Cabal and come to realize that as there is no one onboard this ship, it is mine and I am now a Captain.   As I feel my strength returning, I gather my thoughts and stand up, walking to the bow of this new ship I call for Capt. Azuris. "Captain Azuris, I Captain Wara, have a ship to sell you. What say you?" His reply is, "You aint no Captain. That is the spoils of the battle we just had and as such, belongs to us all." Well that sucked, "BUGGER IT."   Vikeret comes over to start searching the ship and I join in. Vikeret goes to the hold of the new ship as I go to the Captain's quarters. I am able to find 4 books of possible interest to some, a magical, masterwork leather armor with some strange runes on it, and a ship in a bottle. There is also a mounted head of a white Lion type creature, that I remove from the wall and give a burial at sea. After which, I go to find Vikeret and I ask him to inspect the bottle and the armor.   It seems the bottle has some magic placed on it and is of high value, and the ship is an airship. The Captain will like this.   The armor has a curse on it of projectile attraction, the First-mate might like this.   As Capt. Azuris finishes his talks with the remaining Kobolds to crew the new ship, the entire crew starts to gather materials from the hold and complete any repairs needed. The first ship we boarded was called The Single Blade, and the second ship is named Clack's Heart. We decided to keep the Clack's Heart and strip The Single Blade for parts. As everyone is going about the job assigned to them, I find the First-mate and give him the armor. He seems very pleased with this. I then find the Captain to give him the ship in a bottle. After some small talk the Captain yells, "Krump, where in the nine hells are you?" we all start to look for him below deck. Spotting him trying to open the bottle, I find a wooden spoon, as the Captain yells at him to stop that and give the bottle back. After convincing Krump to return the bottle, I whisper to the Captain to watch the following. I throw the spoon wide of Krump and the spoon bounces off the wall and turns in mid air to straight fro Krump, hitting him in the back. "Do you mean harm to my First-mate, or any other of the crew, Wara?" "No Captain. I have no malice or wishes of harm fro any of the crew. I gave the armor to the First-mate thinking it would be a boon for him." "You better go tell him what the armor does, NOW."   After the talk I had with Capt. Azuris, I go to find Krump and tell him of the special ability the armor has. When I am done he looks at me weird as if he is talking to me but not saying a word. So I go back below decks and continue to help the crew prep the two ships for sailing.

    Kryptic Cabal Sailing

I have found and joined the Kryptic Cabal. As I have been sent on a mission to look for information on or about Bollof Frostcrusher, a Frost Giant, I have been able to find and join the Kryptic Cabal and upon joining a crew of a ship we are setting sail to Uthem's Lands. I am also tasked with finding Ancient Artifacts and having them delivered to Uthem as well.   I found Doots through a third party contact, in a distant land, he was sitting in a tavern run by a Dragon-kin. Upon introducing myself to him, I find out we are to meet with a captain he met on his travels here. I also met Vikeret and Little D, as we all walked south of the town we were in for an hour to the meeting spot of the Captain Azuris.   The ship is large, originally built to be manned by Giants. The First Mate is a 3 foot tall cat named Krump. we are all, except Little D, hired on as crew and informed that we need to hire more to able to have the ship functioning. I start with a 1.25 share of all loot brought in while working on the ship. Also while on the ship Azuris is in charge, but when on land Doots is in command. I have found out that Azuris has a pet squid named "Calypso", and it is not small. Little D has said his goodbyes and left. I am able to scout out the ship to learn the layout of everything. All of a sudden a massive crowd comes to the ship as Trolls are climbing up the sides, most want to join as crew while others are shouting about some sort of murder. In the crowd a Large Red Troll is pushed forward to speak, his name is "Sen". After a discussion with Azuris the crowd disperses, and I learn that 2 bards were killed. Azuris is able to hire many from the Trolls and crowd, after learning that most of the Trolls left over will be moving to the land of the Catfolk.   I have now been able to claim a top bunk near the stairs topside. We are all gathered in the Captain's quarters looking at some maps, asking us all if there is a suggested course to set. I am able to convince them all to set course for Uthem's lands, as I have a mission we can all do together.   It is time to do some shopping as Azuris has said the trip will take a year. The third party contact, "Jes'orum", is able to point out a Snowbeard Dwarf that might have some alcohol to sell. I am able to acquire 1000 liters of "Fireball" and suggest to "Carask" that he join us on our journey.   On the Year long journey we see the following ships: 2 Warships 1 Pirate sloop 1 Medium 3 decker Merchant ship 1 small Golden Merchant ship 1 religious ship

    Wara's First Entry

As a young Leonal I was raised to be part of a proud line of fighters and warriors. I had an active happy childhood. At the age of 14 I started the process of learning what I needed to take part and pass the adulthood right of passage. I was doing well with the activities and the learning of the old writings for our Pride. At the age of 16 I was to take part in the right of passage. One day, a week before the event, I was roaming around our little village doing chores, when I found an old dusty chest. Being curious I looked in side to find old ornate equipment. It looked well made and very used, with scratches and scorch marks in different locations, as well as a few dents and dings. As I pulled piece by piece out of the chest, I found a Bastard sword covered in blood, and broken in half. Then under the sword was a sort of helm, a round circlet with two bands coming down the sides that would be in front of the wearer’s ears. For some reason I had the compelling feeling of needing to put on the head band. As I did, I started to feel an energy pulling the band to my head, and a slight blue glow began to come from all over me. Just as the band touched my forehead, the village elder entered the room. Seeing the band coming down out of my hands and falling and attaching itself to my head. The village Elder yelled “What are you doing? What have you done? This is not allowed. Come here.” I stood up facing the Elder and keeping my eyes down as was our custom, and approached the Elder. He grabbed me by my mane and dragged me out of the room and through the building all the way to the clearing in the center of our village. Once there, he threw me to the ground yelling, “Stay there, do not move. You are to be judged by all.” He then called for the entire village to come to the center and gaze upon the young cub, me, that had taken of the sacred chest and used it for his own good. I did not know what was going on or what the Elder was speaking of. It came through many long minutes that the council had gathered together and explained to the entire village that I had gone and opened the sacred chest and used the equipment of the first Leader of our pride for my own gains. I started to protest that I did not know, but the council all as one shouted, “QUIET, you know nothing. You have disgraced our heritage and the honor of the First.” The entire village began to murmur as the council gathered in a circle and discussed what to do with me. After what seemed like an eternity, the council finished their deliberation and shushed the village to announce my punishment. “Wara has disgraced our First by putting on the “Headband of Recognition”. This Headband was worn by our First and was said to have the power to be able to hide the wearer among those who hated and despised our kind. Wara has broken the sacred process of our Pride and therefore must be punished. The headband no longer can be removed form Wara’s head, as it has chosen him as its bearer. We the council of this village have made the decision that Wara will be disowned and banished from this pride. The disownment will be that of all Prides, he is to be hairless from the neck down and his mane to be shaved off.” I was then dragged to the council building where they shaved my mane short, and then poured a thick oily liquid all over my body from neck to toe. Then I was tied to a post at the entrance of the village, where I was to stay until my hair burned off. Five days it took for the liquid to burn the hair off my body, and I was only fed once a day. At the end of the five days, the entire village showed up in a line each dousing my in vile smelling fluids, washing off the hair removing liquid. I was then released and told to leave and never return. As I got up there stood only my father, mother, and younger sister. They did not and could not look at me. My father holding out my backpack, containing my hunting and fighting gear. My mother holding out a single meal in a pouch, as my sister had nothing to give me but a whispered, “goodbye brother”. For days I tried to stay as close as I could to the village without being seen just to watch and see, as well as try to survive, ashamed and afraid. After about a week I finally decided I was ready to move on and hope and try to regain enough honor that I could one day return as an equal to my village. After many weeks of traveling, surviving off the land, I stumbled hungrily upon a caravan of merchants and warriors. I approached in a way that was not alarming, to ask for food and work. That is where my life took on the current road I am on. I became a fighter. First, I was working for hire, often times in groups, then as my travels to me to other lands I was hired on with a massive group to head towards the lands of the Frost Giants. Once there I the entire group of people I came with was split up into groups or singles and sent on different missions. I later came to find out we were sent to the lands of Uthem and to work for him in the southern continent. I did this for many weeks, months, years, until one day . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .   You work under a commander of Uthem’s named Hrotun a half stone giant half frost giant. He is my contact as a mercenary. My mission in Seji's lands, is to look into any followers of "The Cataclysm" or Bollof a former important person in the frost giant lands that was disgraced and banished. He is rumored to be directly plotting against Uthem. The Last Breath Adventuring Guild Bolloff Frostcrusher, he is known for smelling heavily of sour milk and being extremely affectionate physically towards others. A kind and jolly yet smelly Santa Claus would describe him best. He is known as one of the top rangers in the lands and is currently the manager of the guild itself. He is male, about 20ish feet tall, and has a large gut. Think beer belly construction worker As far as last seen, he was talking terribly of Uthem, and inviting individuals who served a banned god into his guild. Some reports note him heading to the east, but otherwise no confirmed sightings in almost a year now Oh and the guild is in Hrimpursar's Last Hold (Ha-rim-purse-er) I had heard of the Kryptic Cabal before and was being sent to join them in the hopes of being hired/join them. I had first heard of and seen glimpses of them at the castle siege. I am now in a different land on a mission.
