The Stone Alliance

Cities

Here we will show the maps of the kingdoms, duchies and lands throughout each of the ages.

Fortress of Carmon

Known to have been Bun's first fortress, he took what his uncle's had taught him in his younger years traveling throughout the jotuns lands. And would build a grand fortress said to have been impenetrable and deep within the ground. Though in truth it may be more factual to say that the Stone Alliance was allowed to stay as many of the Bjarg would sell there maps of the underdark and would offer rare materials they had found in there expeditions. Thus many historians noted that the Fortress of Carmon was more of a city state to the dragon king Mov'asi. However, the city itself marveled in riches, as great beasts from the underdark would swell the markets. Gems and magical devices left behind deep within the tunnels of the underdark, and even lost relics of cities now past could be found. The city was a proving ground for lore masters and adventuerers alike. As the tunnels though running deep and many mapped, still more remained to be discovered and chartered. From the large adventuring guilds to the vast exploration guilds, the Fortress of Carmon was like a jewel amongst the chaos. As it sported massive anti magic spell circles upon each of the towers around the city, encompassing the place fully. A city of peace and quiet, as none were said to be allowed within if ill intent was there only goal. As the gates of the city seemed to glow as each traveler would enter, each side of the gates either shaped as Bun's mother Carmon or his father King Endrik.

Endrik's Last Hold

A city noted to be where the city of Stonehold would later sprout up by the vedan. Endrik's Last Hold was said to run extremely deep within the mountain range, believed to be a city that spanned over 12 mountains, it was believed to be the largest gathering of giants in the world. As the Bjarg were said to number in the fourty or fifty thousand beneath the mountain. The city was said to house The Great Furnace and venerate its smithing class, while also having great vents that would run deep within the underdark. Proving that vast amounts of Endrik's Last Hold has never truly been explored, as the deep vents seem to have had buildings and houses found alongside them to keep warm in the cold underdark.

Nobility

Here we shall discuss notable noble houses through the time periods.

King Endrik

While a strong storm giant as the Bjarg potrayed him, history is far more cruel in truth. King Endrik was strong but not impressive compared to his brethren, he was charismatic, but not nearly as much as Faltharn. He was in every catagory great but in none could he beat his brethren, except for one. King Endrik took after Ogeron more then any other son, as he would take his wives and conquer the lands from apex creatures by himself. As he fathered his three sons, he would find himself retiring at last to the largest stronghold his sons could build him. Ruling from Endrik's Last Hold, King Endrik saw the largest jotun settlement on the continent grow more powerful. However, in his old age it seems that he has decided to find himself calmed by The Great Furnace, leaving many to wonder if the old king has lost his luster. His sons eye his power greedily but seem to make no moves, his brethren on the cusp of war, many wonder what King Endrik will do.

Bun "The Bright Eyed" of Grunaga

Described as a short, muscled, storm giant with dark skin and hands that could fit an adult dragons skull in just the palm. A natural smith who had been blessed from a young age by The Great Furnace, Bun would give his sight to the powerful being in exchange for his legendary smithing abilities. Found to be not only a smith of renown that rivaled near all others, Bun would also find himself to be a natural scout and wizard. Prefering to use lower level magic to create cunning devices, he designed a light spell helmet that allowed the attuned to see gemstones and creatures of dangerous intent. Bun would gain his nickname The Bright Eyed as his personal helmet seemed to always glow far brighter allowing for Bun to see the faintest of mana around an individual, though it is believed non casters cannot be seen by the man. Bun was noted for his hatred towards his father though few know where it started. Many believe that a falling out between his parents would see the truth of why he never returned to Endrik's side. Though the tales speak that Endrik would leave the hold strong and powerful, the truth would show far different. Unlike many of the other Jotuns however, we know the fate of Bun "The Bright Eyed" of Grunaga, as it is noted upon his fathers passing that he would abandon his city and return to Endrik's Last Hold. Retiring here for the rest of the first age, it is stated that Bun would for a time trade and assist the Pekob, however, as the years would pass it is believed that Bun would die as the last of his people, feeding himself to The Great Furnace before it went into its slumber.

Current and Past Wars

Here we shall discuss the notable wars for each period and who they were against.

Religious beliefs

Here we shall discuss the different religious beliefs in this kingdoms history throughout the periods.

The Great Furnace

Long ago the Stone Giants set themselves up deep within the mountains that the mountain dwarves now dwell. Here they set up a massive furnace in which they did all the crafting at the heart of the mountain. This furnace was powered by the red hot life blood of the mountain which gave every weapon or piece of armor created from it a strong fire resistance. As well, that some pieces are even said to have been sentient themselves. In the end many an item created from this great furnace would go on to legendary status, in fact some even believe that the god killing weapons were created from it. With so many stone giants worshipping and praying for great items to be smithed by their hands the furnace would come to life and is said to bestow favor on only the greatest smiths. To this day, The Great Furnace is said to still dwell deep within the mountains, awaiting a smith worthy of crafting at its station. However, to find this furnace one must travel through great labyrinths, fight off stone men, and brave the catacombs of the old stone giant race. Only once all this is complete will you find The Great Furnace.

Events/Holidays

We shall begin to discuss notable holidays and events in this kingdom. Explaining further on where they come from and what goes on during them.

Jotun-Smidor (Yo-tone-Smid-dor)

A contest held every one hundred years in which the grand showing is held at the end of a year long contest. In which all the Virda compete over that year to produce the finest item of whatever category the eldest Rynstr has chosen. As the Virda compete over the full year, giving all a chance to present to the Rynstr and Oeztr. The Rynstr also get there chance to compete as during this time any can challenge the ruling Oeztr, however be forewarned, if you fail many have been executed or thrown to the heart of the volcano. As the Oeztr’s rule is law, and should they be vindictive, many promising Rynstr have found themselves as the sacrifice offered at the final day of the great competition. For as the last day would come, the final presentation of crafted goods presented at the heart of the volcano where the grandest smithies are kept for just this occasion. And the sacrifices are thrown to the center of the volcano to feed the heart through the souls of those who volunteered or had been captured during war times.

Economy

Here we shall discuss the unique economics of different nations as needed.

Economic Status

The current noted treasury value of the nation through raw resource development

Raw Treasury

With a raw treasury of 85,000 diamond coins, 5,000 ruby coins, and 10,000 sapphire hills.

Flameson Mines

Currently producing 15lbs of Flameson ore a day, valued at 3,000 diamond coins a day, with expected 5,000 of flameson in the ground still valued at 1,000,000 diamond coins

Common Tree

Noted to annually produce 49,620lbs of Common Tree, priced annually at 248,100 Ruby volcanos and individually at 1RV per 5lbs or per plank

Coins

Here we shall find how the coins look, what materials they are made of, and what the value of the coins are on the overall market.   DIAMOND CROWNS The first coin that replaced the common platinum that the dragons used for its shininess. Giants though, are not dragons, thus the more common material of liquid diamonds would be harvested from the cores of the volcanoes in the heart of the magma as it was believed. This material would be farmed to make coins and other magical items.   RUBY VOLCANOS Believed to be equivalent to the gold piece commonly used by the lesser nations including dragons. Thus the Jotun-Modr pioneered the coin in the shape of their homeland to be used by those sworn to them. These simple coins are individually 5cm by 5cm like the other coins, however it is clear and seems to sparkle from its craftsmanship only possible by the Jotun-Modr who individually made each coin.   SAPPHIRE HILLS Sapphire hills were thinner coins due to there higher rarity, though most giants valued sapphires less then rubies and only slightly more then emeralds. Thus most recognized this simple hill drawn with sheep grazing into the individual sapphires as a silver coin.   EMERALD PLAINS Lastly and most common in the Jotun-Modr volcanos were emeralds. As the material was farmed simply from their individual Rok-heap herds. Thus simple grass would be carved into the coins as apprentices practiced there arts on the coins.

Trade Goods

Here you shall find the trade goods this race has on offer in the nations they inhabit.

MAPS

Noted to sell vast maps of the underdark that has been scouted by the Bjarg. Many of the guilds will sell individual maps that like art pieces are delicately painted and written with only the finest calligraphy. Each map noted for going for in the hundreds of thousands of gold pieces for the largest. And for the smallest it is believed to be in the thousands, each map unique in its design and showing.

RARE UNDERDARK GEMSTONES

Noted for finding rare gem deposits, it seems strange how often the Bjarg are drawn to large gemstone deposits for there ability to sparkle under the light spelled helmets the Bjarg wear while exploring. Each gemstone said to go for anywhere between a thousand or ten thousand gold pieces, as they seem to be found commonly in higher wizards spells.

LOCATIONS OF RARE ITEMS

While rare, the Bjarg do on occassion come across rare areas where adventurers who have gathered decent to master craft equipment can be found dead in a monsters lair or right outside it. While the Bjarg are by no means a cowardly race, they do see reason in what has value compared to there own lives. And thus, on rare occassions Bjarg will sell expensive maps to hordes of treasure that they themselves could not find.

SCOUTING SERVICES

Bjarg are one of the few races that fully offer there services as mercenaries openly. Seeing no natural hatred of the other races due to there position amongst the other jotun nations. Thus many offer to guide adventuerers and armies throughout the underdark and even guild them to other continents on rare occassions.

MINOR TELEPORTATION CHARMS

Though not high level, it is said that many Bjarg offer minor teleportation charms shaped or designed to look like Bun "The Bright Eyed" casting a spell. The charm will teleport you an immediate 10ft in any direction you choose but burns up after use. Also it cannot pass through solid objects nor occupy the same area.
