General Information

The Goyang vary in species so much that no one culture, religion, and phenotypes. The main clan who seems to rule over the Goyang species are the ones known as the Striped Fangs. A clan of large golaith like creatures covered in orange or white fur with black stripes that vary in number and design. Those who claim this name tend to also claim descendants from the original Striped Fang, a supposed hero from the Age of Chaos period. As the ruling clan they are trained only for war and conquest, other clans specialize in different aspects of the country such as economics, foreign intelligence, diplomacy, ruling, and religion. The clans seem to run in a sort of round table idea. Each having a voice and representation on what the Goyang council does. However, those who specialize in specific fields or hold a specific title tend to gain the first speaker at meetings as both an honor, as well as a source of reliable information. A note to be made is that there are subspecies of Goyang as well. These Goyang although welcome to council meetings, they do not hold a position of decision or right to speak. Though if a tie is created upon during a vote, the sub clans or Lesser Clans may then cast a vote in hopes of breaking the tie. They are also treated as footman and positions of lesser importance. Never have the lesser clans lead an army or been honored by the council in one way or another.

First Age

These are the cities noted to have existed in the first age under the Goyang control

The Last Fang

A city said to be owned by the Hard Claws Clan, the city is said to be mostly built for soldiers and worshippers of the oath. The city is said to be almost the reverse of Starhold, it is quiet, cold, and uninviting. The city finds itself as the largest iron producer in the Samag Clans. And is noted as having multiple streets filled with nothing but tool, armor, and weapon smiths all practicing there craft throughout the day. One would not be hard pressed to find a sword within the city for coppers on the gold, however a good salad or steak or even a drink would cost you a dragons horde. And many would look onto you as if you had stolen from there own mouths. The city shows even more then the others the true lack of food that the goyang had within the first age. The only true salvationw as to join one of the many oath orders within the city that had managed to dress there own temples in grandeur. Feasting and drinking every night, those who watched on found themselves jealous until the oath takers would sally out to take down a purple worm.

Bright Gate

Said to be the city owned by the clan of Bright Fang, it is noted for its large solarium metal statues of Bong the clan leader of Bright Fang holding up the heads of non descript goyang. Bright Gate is said to be the city that glows in the mountains, as the cities large walls of solarium are said to soak in the sun all summer and glow throughout the dark winter. Though not as warm as Mana's Grove, Bright Gate has been noted for having large hotsprings that were carved from the mountain itself, thus allowing for it to war in the hottest of summers. This has given rise to the sun forges of Bright Gate, said to be the only way to smelt the solarium without creating mass amounts of smoke for the gloom or storm jotun raiding parties to find. The city is said to sport many warriors who dip there fangs in the metal the city is so famous for. By doing so, the metal hardens to the teeth and makes them sharper and glow in the night sky. Uniquely, the metal also was noted to have health properties of a minor healing potion when water was ran over the metal. Thus giving many of the warriors within the city an artificial caffeine like health buzz from drinking the water within.

Starhold

A city said to be owned by the clan Starred Stripe, the city is said to sport a large star in the center made of pure platinum and silver. The city itself is said to practice the ancient martial arts that they had learned from a few passing Pakob. However, the few monastaries that have grown within the city are more focused around merchant duties and the growth of profits within the temples businesses. The city is ran almost like a meritocracy but instead through the monastaries themselves, each practicing a unique form of martial arts similar to the Pakob, but in many cases far less brutal and more focused on the disabling and capturing of others. The city sprouts a total of thirteen temples that each have there own leaders, cultures, and arts within. The rest of the city is filled with jewlers, magic item smiths, and young apprentices from the Maejing clan who are there to buy spell components.

Mana's Grove

The city owned by clan Maejing, it is noted as being within and around the open chasm of a large gaping mountain. Many believe the city was a super volcano of sorts that would later erupt at the end of the first age. However, no known records were ever found to prove this. The city itself was rich with death ore, and allowed for the water within the mountain to become enriched with it as well. This allowed the Maejing clan to gain there affinity to magic at the time and grow far more powerful then even there northern brethren. Known as the city of a thousand fountains, the city is truly blessed within the desert for its large oasis beneath the mountain. The city sits within the mouth of the open mountain, with the few hotsprings at the center of the city allowing even the harshest winters to be endured with ease. The city itself is said to stay naturally cool in the summer due to the shade of the mountain, and warm in the winters due to the volcanoic hotsprings that seem to only become active the colder it gets above ground. The city is noted for its large crystal of death ore in the shapes of tree sprouting all throughout. With harvesters found traversing the city in sectors to collect as the magical ore grows each day. With fountains around each corner, and the many death ore trees sprouting about, the city almost seems to light up a bright blue at night, giving it a faint glow even from far above the sky. Giving it the nickname in draconic of "The Sapphire of the Desert".

Storm Ash Port

A city noted for its massive port with a large focus on its wood industry. The were creatures amongst the goyang seem to make up the majority of the city, causing it to take on a similar appearance to the other goyang cities. However, with many races banished there were striken kin to the city, Storm Ash Port can be noted for its large population of vast mixtres of creatures. From monsters to niwarves, all who are striken seem drawn to the great city. Thus a subculture of beast fanatics has been seen to pop up in the form of a cult like religion. Many have noted Simarium “The Ruthless” to have adopted some of there practices with the usage of ritualistic were cursing on folks. However, without its underbelly, the city from the outside merchants appearance is noted for its lovely wood crafting. Buildings of vast wood carvings designed to hold cities together through intricute locking mechanisims, the city is believed to be one of the great wonders of the world in engineering. With deep alleys going all throughout the city, many have noted this city as the grandest rogue republic of the world. With each street owned by another engineering master or wood working rogue guild.

Roscon (Capital)

Roscon was a city named after the first rulers of the Goyang lands. And was set originally in the middle of the nation before the wars in which the tieflings took the entire northern portion of the Goyang lands. Thus where this city once stood as a prime location for both the military and civilians alike. Now the city is on the frontlines at all times, with the rulers constantly pushing the tieflings back. Thus this city is now a fully operational military stronghold, and much of its tourism has been moved to the city of Aduel.

Jan-Inhan Salam(Cruel Person)

A city lodged in the only pass of the grand mountains. The city itself is actually inspired by the cities of the goliath nation known as Rufio. This city is built on a massive bridge system that has in total twelve separate layers in which a person can travel through. With the lowest being on the mountain passes floor, and the highest being over two hundred feet in the air some say. Though it is noted that the city itself has its top layers completely locked off from the general public. Jan-Inhan Salam would gain its name based on the Old Wolf who had come here to train or at least that's how the story goes. Supposedly, in his younger years the Old Wolf of the church of adventurers would constantly find wolf packs in the small desert. And thus began hunting, breeding, and overall ruling the deserts between the two large mountain ranges. Eventually a city would be founded as more followers of the Old Wolf would join. And thus the large city known in common as Cruel Person was born. This is noted as another moniker of the Old Wolf.

Aduel (Son)

A city born from a small cottage where supposedly the Son of the church of adventurers was born. Many would gather here to see the life he lived prior to becoming a god. Thus the town would grow to a popular pilgrimage site. And with its new found population, the city would slowly expand for miles eventually creating the main trading dock for the entirety of the nation. This is also the only city in which outsiders that are not worshippers of the church of adventurers, are usually welcome. As many people come to trade for the large reptilian and fur based items. As the city is famous for bringing in many of the local clans of the Goyang. In which many of them come to trade their hunted goods such as giant lizards, and mountain apes with long fur. Thus many an armor maker are said to make the journey here for the chance to work with such rare items. Also this is the only city to be noted to sell infernal leather or as its more commonly known as “Flayed Tiefling”.

Dwiteulda(Twist)

Known as the city of Twisting, it was built with the mentality of its grand mines and long labyrinths. It is said that this city itself is far underground with large tunnels dug throughout. In which it is common to find many Goyang patrols marching through the area. This is due to its non declared war that the city has suffered from since its creation. As the Goyang and Yuan Ti continue fighting and killing one another as they attempt to take more land. Dwiteulda is the only city noted to have managed to kill a Yuan Ti King, and are said to have the remains of it well preserved far underground. Giving this city one of the largest kills in history to date.

Note:

There are in total thirteen separate clans with their own small towns and cities that act independently from the known King or Queen of the lands. These small towns typically are completely isolated from outside races. And are known to practice the old druidic arts of the world over the worship of the church of adventurers.

Technology periods

Here we shall discuss the main technological discoveries by this race.

The Art of Maejig Ingkeu

A form of magic that was recently discovered though has been known to the Goyang since their founding as a race. The process is simple in understanding but in practice is said to be one of the more dangerous arts. Firstly, one must create a magic conductive ink through the melting and burning of magical scrolls. At which point then the ashes are mixed with water and mesna to create the black ink itself. From here, the user must use a special bone tool from the rare Mountain Blue Back Apes. This bone then allows the user to channel their own magic, into the ink at a very specific strength. At which point they can begin to mark both the clan sigil which gives them the ability to recognize anyone of their clan via a light that only other members can see. This practice is also known for creating a spell slot of sorts in which a marking of the tattoo with the spell itself having been written on the scroll during the burning and melting portion. However, what should be noted about this amazing form of magical storage and recognition. Is that the lack of control by the artist on their ability to control the flow of magic. Can actually extremely change the outcomes, in some rare cases even cause the victim to blow up from too much magic being forced into the body. Or in other cases, the magic is not strong enough and will blow up on the body. A good example of this was when a Goyang monk with the fireball tattoo on his hand was unfortunately made too weak to project off the hand. Thus causing the Goyang in question to lose his hand to extreme burning and explosion from the fireball.

Here we shall discuss how the overall ladder of power is designed in this races territories.

Janglo (Elder)

Janglo or as they are known in common as elders. Are traditionally the leaders of each of the individual clans that reside inside the Goyang lands. To gain this title, one must have survived a conflict with either another clan or a war with another nation. This means that mercenaries are a common job for many Goyang who wish to one day become Janglo. Each Janglo has final say over his clan, and thus does not have to answer to the Ja or any other group for that matter. However, this does come at a cost, as the Janglo do not get any support from a Ja if they refuse to back them or answer the call when requested. It is also to be noted that the Janglo are the only members that can give clan tattoos to their members. And thus the recognized sigil is only given when recognized by the Janglo.

Ja (Ruler)

Those who are born to rule are said to be marked with the stripes of victory and the size to match. Every year a new Ja can be chosen if the bloodline has stopped. This means that if a Ja dies prior to giving an heir to the nation. The next Ja will be picked via an extremely brutal hunting free for all that the Janglo will oversee. However, it is to be noted that a Ja can never be overthrown once given the markings of the king. As it is said that this magical tattoo that is placed on their skin, gives them the ability to command all Goyang through a forced pressure of the tattoo itself on all those with clan tattoos.

Eomeoni (Mother)

A term given to any female who has given birth to children within the clan. As every mother in the individual clans takes care of the young as a whole. The concept of the individual family unit as the vedan define it does not apply to the Goyang. This is due to an individual Eomeoni being able to give birth to up to eight children at a time and thus to avoid the individual eomeoni getting overwhelmed the entire clan comes together to raise the children.

Geul Maejig (Grand Mage)

A term used for the most decorated militarily magic casters. This term is used to define the three magic casters that stand above all others in the nation. And thus serve only the king and his royal family. However each of the Geul Maejig are allowed to roam as they see fit and set up shop anywhere in the world so long as they can return to the royal family within a day. They are also granted unlimited funding and are expected to teach the newest generation of magic casters.

Seongeoin (Electors)

The Seongeoin are a selected group of thirteen clans that serve under the Ja directly. Upon the ten year marking prior to the king's death. The Seongeoin are gathered from all across the country to then submit their candidates for the next kingship. Each gets a vote, and each can vote for any single person to be elected as Ja. This system was designed after the original government of the Vedan back when the Goyang and Vedan fought. Many survivors traveled through the lands after the age of chaos and would come to appreciate how the vedan government worked on an electoral selection process.

Saja (Lion)

The term is granted to the successor of the current living king and the one chosen by the Seongeoin. This title is only granted to the next king while the current king is alive. And serves to note for instructors in the capital to make the education of the Saja and his classmates far harder than the normal curriculum. It is also considered one of the greatest honors to be assigned in the same class as the Saja. As many Goyang believe this means you are destined for greater things.

Note

There are over one hundred recognized clans of the Goyang and Jubang species in which the Goyang king recognizes. However, only thirteen of the clans who have managed to assist in the advancement of the nation the most as a whole. Are typically recognized amongst the thirteen electors who are the most powerful beneath the Ja himself.

Storm’s Call: A legendary War Mallet that was said to when striking the ground could cause the entire world to shake. And even is said to be able to call lightning strikes down on its intended foe.

First Age

Terecitas "The Halfbreed" of clan Maejing

Noted as having an army of around 400 Geul Maejig, 500 Maejig, 3,000 warriors, 100 paladins, and 1,000 slaves that can be mobilized

Here we shall discuss the notable wars for each period and who they were against.

The Taming 6990 to 6985 BS

A war that was said to begin due to the outrage by the changeling leader known at the time as the Great Brown Bear. It began with the goyang king refusing the hand of a prince of the changeling lands. As the dowry was to be a quarter of the entire nation's annual income from trade outside of the nation. Thus the king at the time believed this to be more of a protection fee rather than an actual marriage proposal. It is also noted that the prince had strange interests beyond what the goyang royal family would accommodate. Thus, war would break out with the eventual changeling hordes outnumbering the entirety of the goyang population by thousands. Though the war was no longer than a month according to some scholars. It is noted that the goyang put up the greatest fight by slaying thousands of their ill equipped soldiers. Though it is also noted that some goyang who would go on to have many grandchildren would pass on a strange immunity to yuan ti poison. This is believed to be due to the changelings using yuan ti venom on their blades to weaken the superior goyang forces.

The Charring 6700 to 6621 BS

While The Charring mostly refers to the Yuan Ti breaking free after six generations of enslavement. It should be noted that the goyang had instead chosen to not take on the entirety of the changeling military force. But rather waited until the yuan ti began their conquest at which point the goyang overthrew the sparse soldier outposts all along the nation. And instead used the infrastructure built up by the changelings to reinforce their nation and towns. Thus the war for the goyangs side was less a grand battle of rebellion to end slavery. And more to the point of taking what was built by another and using it to their own advantage. By the time the Yuan ti finished off the remaining changelings. The Goyang had happily been at peace for twenty years in which they prepared to counter invade those nations that had become free. Though once the Yuan ti hordes arrived to assist the goyang. The goyang king at the time decided against the plan.

The War of the Blackened Field: Years 4999 to 4940

A war between the Goyang clans and the Tiefling empire for the right of freedom and dissolving of the slave system within the tiefling lands. While some would state that the Tieflings had actually started the war, it should be noted that the Goyang actually sent the first official declaration of war against the tieflings for the dissolving of the slave markets in tiefling lands. This was due in part from the goyang no longer making any money off other nations being enslaved as the tieflings refused to do business with the goyang. And as well the constant slave raiding across the straight of the lands now belonging to the Tiefling colonies. Though not much is known of the overall war as no neutral historical documents were ever crafted. It should be noted taht the war ended at the Battle of the Belching Gulch. Where the famous warlord Blenton the Bloodied of house SilverSong managed to kill the goyang king on the battlefield. At which point the new Ja would seek peace immediately for hopes of avoiding further slaughter. And thus the entirety of the northern territories of the goyang kingdom were lost to the tieflings.

Events/Holidays

We shall begin to discuss notable holidays and events in this culture. Explaining further on where they come from and what goes on during them.

Keullaen-e Sulag (Acceptance into the clan)

Each clan has different rules and beliefs on what makes a successful member of the clan. However, most commonly it is something to do with the clan's specialization. Those who are boat builders may require that a new member earn his clan tattoo or mark as it is commonly called. May have to build a grand boat to prove themselves. And for how long each of the Keullaen-e Sulag can take also varies on the individual clan. In many cases the clan can also decide during this right of passage that the member should instead break off with his current age group and form a new clan. Either way, at the end the Janglo has final say and decides the fate of the child.

Seongeoindan (Elector’s Elections)

Each Seongeoin is chosen by their clan and their ability to perform a grand task that benefits the entirety of the nation and the goyang species. Thus, with this little amount of pressure on each individual clan. The clans themselves are noted for stealing prominent candidates and forcing them to renounce their clan tattoos and have the new clans mark tattooed over it. Though it should be noted, that the king himself will typically choose those who have provided to the nation the most. And thus, many goyang look to the betterment of their people over personal gains. As an almost ritualistic focus on the nation's health is hammered into the children of the goyang clans from a young age.

Kingseu Jaeim Gigan (The Kings Tenure)

Upon the beginning of each year, one of the Geul Maejig returns to the capital to cast the ritual spell of “Deaths Door”. At which point the king is tested to find out if he would die of natural causes within the next ten years. If the response from the spell is negative, then the king goes on about his life alongside the rest of the nation. Should the answer come out positive, the Ja is immediately housebound, and a new Saja elected. Due to the inaccuracy of the spell, no specific date will be found but a rough window of between five to ten years can be answered if the Geul Maejig has enough magical power. The Saja once found is immediately sent to the highest schools and spends all their time during the Kingseu Jaeim Gigan either in class or spending time beside the Ja to learn of the nation. At the end of the Kingseu Jaeim Gigan, a grand feast is held. And the Ja hands over the crown if possible to the Saja and then is ritualistically beheaded at the end of the feast for the new Ja to fully gain power. This is said to avoid upstarts in case the Ja is brought back or makes a recovery. However, superstition dictates that this is a sign of respect to the gods from when the goyang became a race.

Religious beliefs

Here we shall discuss the different religious beliefs in this races history throughout the periods.

The Church of Adventure

Although many of the tribes focus on the different adventures depending on their own goals, it is common for tribes to actually specialize in a class because of this. Thus we see that each of the main tribes have built and worship only one adventurer. Though this is common among worshippers of this church, what is unique about the Goyang is why they worship the adventurers. While The Old Wolf is the most common as he is said to have married a Goyang princess, it is also known that Goyang utterly hate both yuan ti (which is why they will not worship the church of the three pillars since the high king is blamed for the yuan ti coming to sentience). They also hate dragons who the church of adventurers also despise, thus with this and the combination that the three pillars church is not accepted in Goyang lands caused the strange choice. Not many are sure why the Goyang hate dragons. Some believe its due to after the striped fang being sealed away that the dragons would try to enslave the Goyang people. Not in the traditional way of brute force, but through the usage of coercion and manipulation with magic. This would cause a minor war with the few green dragons who had built their lairs in the area and begun the enslavement process.

Known diseases

Here we shall discuss known diseases to be active and/or discovered or cured during the different time periods of these races

Note

The Goyang were one of the few races in the first age and throughout there history to be obsessed with baths and hot springs. Many having noted that it was quite common for the average goyang to bathe three to four times a day within the hotsprings or by other means even when at war. Thus the rampant spread of disease was quite rare within the nation.

Bola (Purple Eyes)

A term used for those of the goyang who still resemble their Tigraxes cousins. As though these races once were one. The two now are so vastly different that the biology of the two would be hard to link as descendants of the same species. However, on rare occasions it is said that a goyang is born with the purple eyes and granted the ability to shift their appearance to anything they would like minus their slightly purpled coloration of the eyes no matter the color it is shifted to.

Nanjaeng-I (Dwarvenhood)

Contrary to popular belief the Jubang are not just Goyang affected by a disease that makes them shorter. Rather the Jubang are a completely separate species. Though it should be noted that they are biologically compatible with the goyang and thus when the two races breed the outcome is most commonly referred to as a Nanjaeng-I or a dwarf goyang. As the child will be slightly taller than the average Jubang but much shorter than the common Goyang.

Daemeoli (Baldness)

Also commonly called the Demons of Skin. The Daemeoli is a disease that causes a goyang to go completely bald and is unable to grow its fur back no matter the cure disease. This is believed to be a genetic disease, though no studies have yet to link it. It does however, affect all goyang and jubang.

Coins

Here we shall find how the coins look, what materials they are made of, and what the value of the coins are on the overall market.

Diamond Crowns

The first coin that replaced the common platinum that the dragons used for its shininess. Giants though, are not dragons, thus the more common material of liquid diamonds would be harvested from the cores of the volcanoes in the heart of the magma as it was believed. This material would be farmed to make coins and other magical items.

Ruby Volcanos

Believed to be equivalent to the gold piece commonly used by the lesser nations including dragons. Thus the Jotun-Modr pioneered the coin in the shape of their homeland to be used by those sworn to them. These simple coins are individually 5cm by 5cm like the other coins, however it is clear and seems to sparkle from its craftsmanship only possible by the Jotun-Modr who individually made each coin.

Sapphire Hills

Sapphire hills were thinner coins due to there higher rarity, though most giants valued sapphires less then rubies and only slightly more then emeralds. Thus most recognized this simple hill drawn with sheep grazing into the individual sapphires as a silver coin.

Emerald Plains

Lastly and most common in the Jotun-Modr volcanos were emeralds. As the material was farmed simply from their individual Rok-heap herds. Thus simple grass would be carved into the coins as apprentices practiced there arts on the coins.

Trade Goods

Here you shall find the trade goods this race has on offer in the nations they inhabit.

Coal

Noted in the first age for being the biggest suppliers of coal in the world. The Samag clans would be in constant skirmishes with the lycanthropes of the west for the large coal deposits beneath the mountains seperating the two nations.

Monster Hunters

Noted as a nation of monster hunters after the constant battles throughout the wide desert that goes unclaimed by any clan. The Goyang are an adept people who are quite good at hunting down, tracking, studying and finally poisoning there prey. Offering there services at a premium, many nations have found there services as both monster hunters and exterminators to be quite useful.

Na’kale Tirgurar

Ability score increase

Typically gaining a +2 to dexterity and a +1 to charisma, the Goyang tribes all vary slightly but all have the same increase. Well, all but the Jubang.

Age

The average lifespan of a Goyang is around 70 to 90 years with a maturity by age 12. This seems to be roughly universal among the many tribes.

Phenotypes

Ranging in color, height and so much more the Goyang tend to take on the appearance of the tribe they are based around. For example the striped fang take after what we know as the tiger, and the Jubang after the house cat.

Height and Weight

Alignment

Alignment is rather strict, all Goyang live by the laws set forth by their individual tribe. Giving them a strong lawful view, but how they choose to obey those laws are up to them.

Speed

The average speed of a Goyang is typically 35ft, however some tribes have been known to go as far as 45ft.

Founding

Here we shall explain when the race came to be, how it came to be, and whom it is credited to and where. The Goyang were founded under the first Storm Emperor Simarium “The Ruthless” of clan Storm. From deep in the jungle the Simarium would be born with a black bolt of lightning running down his back. He would come of age after defeating not one but seven great warriors from the clan formerly known as The Golden Sun. However, Simarium would not stop here, after his coming of age he would begin his plans to take over the clan and begin his conquest. Simarium believed in a united empire was his future and the great clan elder who at the time served as represented agreed. Simarium would begin his conquest be defeating the most prominent in the clan, Large Foot. Large Foot was a well respected warrior who was known to be the best hunter in all the lands. His tracking ability was legendary and his natural skill with a bow was unchallenged. Simarium would cut Large Foot down after a three day duel in the forest. According to legend Simarium would hunt Large Foot until the two arrived at an open field. He would dodge arrow after arrow as he advanced with nothing but his hands. Simarium would return with the head of Large Foot in hand. Afterwards he would meet with his clan elders to begin making plans to unify the Goyang under one rule. And he would succeed, time and again Simarium would either kill or prove his power through tests. And one by one each clan would swear fealty to this mighty cat. From here the story gets a little messy, according to some legends he would take the daughter of a goddess now long forgotten. He would have many children and the clan would prosper. Other sources speak of him heading west toward the Yuan Ti lands and conquering and killing one of the great sisters of old. Driving her brood into the deep depths of the underground. He would even manage to slay her mate The First King. And others even say that he would launch an attack on the tiefling lands from the sea. Managing to take and hold the southern tip of the island from the necromantic mages. And all accounts are true according to archeological sites we have found showing combat and Goyang dead in each of the foretold areas. However, after the three great triumphs of Simarium, he would completely disappear from history. No accounts of his death have ever been found and the clan Storm although it exists has no record of his birth. As well, the Goyang would find leadership soon after under Holang-I (Tiger) clan and would begin a peaceful and prosperous rule for quite sometime.

Other interesting Facts

Main Clans The Striped Fang clan have lead the Goyang clans ever since the age of chaos and have not once had that rule stopped. They are the leaders in war time and only gain notoriety through the destruction of their enemies. Because of this, a Striped Fang child must do what is called a pilgrimage of blood. Where they must travel, stay and learn from each clan, and only are allowed to leave once they have managed to defeat the leader of that clan. If they fail, the striped fang clan member is cast out as an exile or killed. Depending on the failures choice will define the next step. Death is ellagant, the designated failure can choose to die through battle which if they win they take the place of the fallen, the cave of despair in which if they have failed they must travel through a mass cave system until they find the exit. In this cave they will fight monsters of all kinds and other designated failures. Only those who make it out within a certain time limit are welcomed back. Exile is forever, the failure is written off as dead in the records and banished from the lands after having their claws pulled and their hands dipped in blackened paint that never washes out. This is to mark them as both unlucky and an exile.
