Mother's Belief - Heavy Wooden Shield

Though designed and shaped to look like a regular heavy wooden shield. The shield itself seems to have a mix of bronze and silver alloy that coats the front. With two rings of solid bronze, and a mix of the two alloys set in between, the design is at first simple. Until you see the center where the silver is used to create silver wooden hands interlocking in a circular form to represent the goddess Ela Ugbo. This shield is said to glow when undead with ill intent are nearby.

As the heavy wooden shield is absorbed by this new holy artifact, it seems to morph and change in its design. With the blue colorium rim still holding the metal together. The thick bronze and silver alloy seems to mix with a white colorium and create a design of Ela Ugbo's holy symbol within the shields face. With Kings Tears carved into the shape of hands interlocked along the edge of the shield, each grasping the next. This shield truly glimmers when undead and demons are nearby, allowing for its user to tell if the creatures have hostile or friendly intent. As the white colorium plating glows when they seem to mean ill intent, while the wooden interlocking circular design beneath glows through when they seem friendly. However, regardless of intent the item glows a faint white whenever one is near.

Item Effects:

This heavy wooden shield acts as a +2 item. It will give warning against any undead that have ill intent toward its user. Causing the shields central hands to glow bright enough to go from complete darkness to low light. This shield also has the ability nimbleness. While the actual weight is unchanged, the maximum Dexterity bonus increases by +2 and the armor check penalty decreases by 1

Blue Colorium Rim

This item is said to have around the entirety of its rim a blue colorium added onto it. Strengthing the metal of the shield and allowing for its willful belief to grow stronger. This effect allows for the shields wielder to grant a +1 to its base effect, making it a +3 item in total. And maintaining the above effects as is. The blue colorium also seems to allow the item to have room for magical runes to be applied when upgrading the item next.

White Colorium Plating

This material gives a natural fear aura to whomever looks upon it. Granting a DC 20 Will save for the implications of your love for death and ferociousness. This also grants its user +5 to Intimidiation checks when on display for the target to see.

Kings Tear Hands

The ancient clan of primitive trolls that served alongside Ela Ugbo known only as The Album Dakka. They where said to be a group of trolls who bathed themselves in white colorium before battle. However, as they found themselves overwhelmed it is said that "The Mother" stepped in. Stopping The Three Supreme at the time, and banishing them from her lands. The trolls found themselves a home and a place to practice there unique magic. Years would go by and it is said that The Album Dakka would leave behind only a single troll, as the rest would give there lives valiantely fighting off a spider who had come to claim The Mother's life. While one by one they fell, each would leave behind there wishes for the child. Each a stone of power that would merge with the four most powerful items.

The first, The King's Tear in which the material gains its name. This shield is one of a set of four items that all hold the symbol of Ela Ugbo. Each with her holy symbol, and each surrounded in the wishes of those who fell. These four items have gone on to prove the true champion of The Mother in each age thereafter. When united with each other it is said the Kings Tear Hands will fully awaken and unleash the true power of Ela Ugbo.

On the back of the shield shows a simple design of three other locations, the next looks to be Dragon's Crown.

Boon:

This item seems to be able to grow, both as the user gains power but as well be modified by those trusted of its wielder.

Curse:

The wielder of this item has sworn fealty fully and been recognized as the next champion of Ela Ugbo's holy knight order. However, trials are yet to be completed, and until then this item will continue to absorb other shields. Refusing to leave your side and taking shield shapes as needed. Any work done on this shield must be within a 5ft vicinity of its wielder at all times.
