Lesser Clan Grey Rat

Organization Name:

Lesser Clan Grey Rat

Organization Category:

Noble House/Merchant Organization

Organization Specialization:

Slaves, Information, and Stolen Goods

Sigil:

A small grey mouse on a silver coin with a grey background is said to be the sigil of lesser clan Grey Rat. With the rise of the "Bloody Tooth" it is said that clan Grey Rat would be formed. As the house refused to stand by the unneeded bloodshed. Thus they would remove the ruby red from there banner and instead focus on the coin and rat of the families strength. Always remaining "The Gold Rat who stole the cheese from the Crimson Cat.".

Owner:

Orros "Goldhammer" of lesser clan Grey Rat, and the owner of Chisel and Cut Merchant Guild. He is noted for his wide and elderly appearance, standing roughly 3'10 and weighing near 380lbs. His large cloak is said to cover much of his appearance, and thus only his large orchalcum chain shirt can be seen. His beard a vibrant grey and orange, while his hair stands more platinum blonde. Both tied up in a single braid and covered in gemstone encrusted rings. Lastly, his ring in which he goes nowhere without, a large paladium grey rat shaped ring. It is said to come alive when the two are alone and whisper the future to Orros, allowing him to always gain the upper hand.
Having managed to remove the previous clan head, his brother, through means of vanishing. Many wonder where Kurgan "White Rat" ended up, however few believe the Orros not to be fit for the role after Kurgans disappearance. Far more cunning then he gives on, Orros prefers to let his enemies talk while he listens. Playing the role of fool quite well, he puts on a great show upon meeting him. However beneath his jovial jokes and kind gestures beats the heart of a killer. One who if you laugh to hard or at the wrong time, would just as quickly see your head on a dinner plate.

Founder:

Avarice III "Silver Rat" of lesser clan Grey Rat and former heir to clan Large Rat. It is said that Avarice III refused to accept what his father had done during the "Crimson Coin Civil War". And though he was the expected heir to the family, he instead chose to strike out on his own. Founding the lesser clan of Grey Rat and exiling themselves for a time to the new found colonies of Diamonds Death. Quickly gaining a name for himself, Avarice III would supply the armies and locals alike. Eventually by the full founding and finishing the walls of the city, it is said that Avarice III "Silver Rat" would manage to have half the city in his pocket. Even taking a second wife, the third eldest daughter of Gregsmaratam's children and one of the heros from when the city was a frontier. With his rise to prominance, it is said he would begin marrying his children to each of the noteable merchants in town. Eventually creating a large congolomerate that would go on to dominate any market that Gregsmaratam's merchant fleet would open.

Subsidiaries:

Lesser Clan Gold Cat
A small clan that specializes in mercenary and raiding work. It is said that the majority are battle tested adventurers who make most noble lords look meek in comparison. They specialize in hunting both giants and dragons but prefer pillaging other races. Most members are considered to be elite knights but with nasty personalities and a twisted sense of the law. They act as the enforcer clan to Grey Rats mercantile dominance.

Lesser Clan Silver Mouse
A small clan that specializes in moving and selling stolen items. With many of them focusing on there roguish abilities the clan is said to be a majority of exiles and other fallen nobles. With the focus on blending in, few have actually met members of this clan and thus few believe they actually exist. But it has been confirmed that when in a city with the Grey Rats, one always finds the Silver Mouse if they wish to do business. For the Grey Rat never answers unless called upon by a Silver Mouse.

Renown members:

Orros "Young Orros" of lesser clan Grey Rat
The current heir of the lesser clan and one said to be responsible for the deal on The Crimson City. With Young Orros managing to marry into the Large Rats and gain a major claim to the clan, the heir Abba "Junior" had no choice but to give it up. With Young Orros as great a merchant and clever as his father, many expect him to take the head of the family soon. Though a few wonder how long he can last as Abba "Junior" and Young Orros are said to be feuding constantly over the same women. With the two known to have started fighting even at his wedding in front of the king himself.

Verga'dain "The Small Coin" Lesser Clan Greyrat
Second born to Young Orros, it is said that Verga'dain who rules over The Crimson City's lower markets was originally expected to be the next heir. But with Young Orros's accomplishments, few could deny the elder brothers claim. However no one seemed to explain that to the cold hearted thug and his elite order of Waroen petty thieves. Each a locally trained Waroen who had spent most there lives on the streets cutting purses and throats to survive. Verga'dain is said to be far crueler then any of his followers though. And has begun a shadow war with both Young Orros and Abba "Junior" since the announcement of Abba "The Avarice" of clan Large Rat potentially retiring from his seat.

Locations:

Black Dragon Market
Though almost every black market around the world has a branch office of clan Grey Rat, few compare to the Black Dragon Market. Based inside Diamond's Death, the city is home to the strongest black market in the world. Housing the greatest criminals who all enjoy the peace of the city and its very loose laws. The black market nicknamed "Black Dragon Market" for its large obsidian dragon statues at its entrance and exit. The market is known to be incredibly deadly for the innocent, and rather profitable for those with the right connections. The entierty of the market stands as the secondary home of the clan of Grey Rat, in which they have an office that almost rivals the rulers throne room. Beautiful statues of elven goddesses decorate the halls and offices, large vines carved from emeralds hang from the ceiling. While books from all over the world decorate the many shelves within the building, and items of high rarity dot the corner offices as pieces to chat over. Truly a magnificent building, the outside stands no less beautiful. With large statues made of obsidian representing the clans leaders, while a central mythril pillar is set to look like Gregsmaratam's elven diplomat form.

The Crimson City
Having managed to purchase the city out from underneath one of the failing branches of the Large Rat clan. The city that originally was owned by House Crimson Smilidon, now finds itself the headquarters of almost all black market dealings around the world. It is said the families main branch rules from here with an iron fist. Though the city itself is filled with nothing but cut throats, criminals and other such evil doers, it is surprisingly tame. A city for outlaws that all obey the ruling classes laws, doing dealings and selling illegal goods as they wish.
