Jarn Bjarg - Iron Mountain
Description:
A blade rumored to have been made for an ogre king by the hands of a master smith. This fullblade as its called, is made up of a mythril blade with a long silver blood groove so that when the blade hits, the blood of the creature it has struck may soak it. It is said that as the blade soaks in the blood of the living, it begins to glow with runes that ignite into a deep purple flame. The wielder of this weapon is said to appear as if this doomed gods knight when the blade has soaked in enough blood to quench it. Though how much that is, is unknown. When wielded outside of battle, the blade glimmers with a fine oily like substance on it. Signfying its acid quenched blade, that prevents any rusting or cracking.
The guard of the blade seems to be made from a dark silver like material that absorbs natural light from around it. Giving the wielders hands an almost shrouded like appearance, which is said to make it hard to track the blade or the users intentions. The guard itself is noted to have two rubies set to either side with a large earth elemental gem at the center. The rubies are said to glow whenever the wielders chosen enemy is within 50ft. The center gem though seems to glow when the spells within are used. When it does, a small emblazoned iron heart seems to glow across the gemstone as the magic flows outwards.
Lastly, the grip of the handle is made from Greatwood and wrapped with hellhound leather with its pommel housing a large sharpened ruby. Each of the faces of the ruby is said to have the mark of the IronHeart Merchant Company carved into it. Each is said to glow as the blade absorbs more blood from its targets. Eventually wrapping the hands of the user in a purple like flame that distorts where the arms of the user are. Almost giving an ethereal like glow to the wielder, this allows the weapon to swing without concern and seemingly hit without any tells to the target. This effect also allows the wielder to quickly tap the ruby on one of its sides and open the secret hollow hilt for whatever is preserved within.
Item Effect:
This item acts as a huge two handed weapon (see fullblade for further information), with all bonuses included provides a +4 to hit and is considered a Legendary item. And provides a total of +6 damage to the base weapon.Collision
Gives +5 bonus to damage. This effect is reflected through the blades thickness and sharpness, the mythril seemingly finely sharpened to a point that could cut diamond coins.Hornblade
Gives this weapon the effect of acting as if size catagory small (Currently Huge and two handed) and one handed to its wielder. This shows in the reflection of the blades crooked nature and saw blade spine.Hilt Hollow
This modification is simply a hollow container hidden inside a weapon, usually in the hilt. Creatures that are unaware of the hollow must make a successful DC 30 Search check to find it. While holding the weapon, you merely press a tiny button hidden on the crosspiece, and the hollow springs open, depositing its contents into your other hand. If your other hand is full, you can simultaneously drop your weapon (as a free action) as the hollow's contents are ejected, leaving you holding them instead of the weapon. Either way, emptying the hollow is a swift action, and loading it is a full-round action. The hollow is about 6 inches long and 1 inch in diameter, making it large enough for a single vial of potion. Spellcasters often store material components in hilt hollows, allowing them to eject the components into their hand if they are grappled.Blood Groove
The fuller, also known as the blood groove, is a furrow that travels down the length of the blade from the hilt to just before the tip, designed to reduce the weight of the blade and increase its strength. This allows the craftsman to create a lighter blade without diminishing the strength of the weapon, a process difficult to perfect but, when successful, produces a weapon both strong and light. The fuller reduces weight of the weapon by 20%, or 1/2 pound, whichever is greater, and increase the Hardness by +2.Razor Sharp
Some craftsmen can coax a superior edge from a blade. Swordsmen consider such weapons extremely valuable, as such blades not only slice into opponents more easily but they also stick within such foes less frequently. A bladed weapon with this item quality deals an extra +1 point of damage.Acid Washed
Swords made from two or more metals are acid washed in order to bring out the contrast in appearance between the two metals. Although typically performed on bladed weapons, some experimental craftsmen have attempted to mimic the process with other metal weapons and armor. Acid washing creates elaborate and beautiful patterns on the surface of the weapon. Items created with the acid washed quality gain a +4 bonus on saving throws made against acid, rust, or disintegration.Hell Hound Leather
This item grants its user fire resistance 5 from the leather within its pommel. Allowing the minor fire damage to be absorbed into the blade before even making contact with the wielder.Greatwood
This weapon is made with greatwood within its handle that allow the user to further enchant the weapon in the future. It is even believed that if worked by certain druids this wood can absorb and store magical spells thrown at it.Chosen Enemy
It is said that upon its death, a mountain giant cursed the creator of this item before he fell, though the effect seemed to mix with the individuals own divinity. Allowing the blade to take on the hatred and curse in a strange fashion. This item allows the user to mark a single individual and always know when they are within a certain distance (50ft). This mark cannot be removed unless by "Remove Curse" and is treated as if a Scrying, Greater was cast upon the mark.
Spell Effect:
Once per day the user of this blade may either use Summon Natures Ally IV to summon a medium earth elemental shaped as if a clone of the wielder (same stats, same damage just a different appearance). Or Move Earth as if Caster Level 11. This ability is regained at dawn every day as the blade soaks in a bit of dirt from the ground around it.
Curse :
This item has a unique curse upon it that seems to come from a lost gods power. Almost as if a gods fate was put within it, the blade seems to absorb the memories of its owner. And when striking a creature, the creature must make a DC 20 Will save or feel the fear effect take hold. As all those killed by the wielder flood there final visage into the attacked creatures head. If immune to mind effecting this effect only shows the death of those pertinent to the attacked creature. However, they will not be feared.Aura: Faint Transmutation
