House Scrolocn

Organization Name:

House Scrolocn (Ss-Crow-Low-Kin)

Organization Category:

Noble House

Organization Specialization:

Noble House

Sigil:

A frost worm on a red mountain background is the simple yet intricate sigil of House Scrolocn. Interestingly founded after slaying a dragon king though no stronger then a modern dragon lord. The house did not use the slain dragon for its sigil. Choosing instead to commemorate Scas'Nco'Srol "Worm Tamer" a frost worm dragon hybrid creature. Famous for amassing large amounts of purple and frost worms, then unleashing them on territories while it swallowed up the valuables afterwards.

Owner:

Lóni "Lazy Worm" of House Scrolocn is said to be quite the wide snow beard, standing nearly five feet even. He is known to weigh anywhere between eight hundred to a thousand pounds on his rather round figure. Unable to walk any longer, Lóni is said to have his servents wheel him around in a large chair. While many commoners think Lóni gained the nickname "Lazy Worm" for his size, that actually came far after the nickname was granted. Having only put on the weight as a result of much of his family being killed or forcibly married off. Lóni found his nickname gained from the Red Snow War in which he had chosen to hold his men back during the Siege of Hamescus Strongport. Which as it was later confirmed would be the main reason the heros of The Siege of Hamescus Strongport managed to easily hold the walls without a casualty. Thus leaving Lóni "Lazy Worm" as the nobles of the Loyalist and Royalist alike would call him. Only ever managing to act when he saved his own skin by selling his four daughters off to the Venkasz allies.

Founder:

Hljóðolfr "Silent Worm" of House Scrolocn who defeated the elder astral dragon Scas'Nco'Srol "Worm Tamer". Said to have managed to have liberated his moutain and pushed back the old dragon king Jeskurana'lara "Beard Eater" who had claimed the territory long before the dragons united. It is said that Hljóðolfr "Silent Worm" found himself leading an army of nearly forty thousand escaped aquatic clanned snow beards. With the army managing to hold the lines against the large draconic armies of Jeskurana'lara "Beard Eater". Hljóðolfr "Silent Worm" found himself sneaking through the enemy lines before finally managing to cut down the dragon with the families great pickaxe. Plunging it deep into the head of the dragon king, the other dragons where shortly removed and Scas'Nco'Srol "Worm Tamer" cut down for the true threat he was.  Though not before managing to allow his kin to escape through a portal into the Sea of Skies and cursing the bloodline of Hljóðolfr "Silent Worm".
Post war the young Hljóðolfr "Silent Worm" found himself recognized and with the multitude of aquatic snow beards wishing to stand with him. Hljóðolfr "Silent Worm" found himself founding the House of Scrolocn, naming it after the threat that never truly vanished.  For as his first born would be born and his first born after that, each would be forced to fight Scas'Nco'Srol "Worm Tamer" in his prime. Those that faltered or failed would lose claim to the families power, and forever find themselves cursed with disaster when using the family name. For those that succeeded however, they would find themselves empowered. Magic and knowledge at there fingertips that no other clan could claim. It is believed that Hljóðolfr "Silent Worm" would use his new found charming gifts to rule for near eight hundred years before perishing from old age.

Subsidiaries:

Clan TreasureHorn
Founded two generations after the rise of Hljóðolfr "Silent Worm". The clan TreasureHorn would gain its name from its ability to produce Gilded Scales from the deep sea. Hirol "The Delver" a son of the House Scrolocn King's sister, found himself without a chance for inheritance. Without being well known or being watched, as few of the servents treated him as anything but a noble. Hirol would spend his free time delving deep beneath the water to prove his ability as an aquatic snow beard. Similar to those of Hljóðolfr "Silent Worm" time, he would plan to hold his breath to the deepest depths and take from the ruins at the sea floor. For only the grandest swimmers could, however Hirol would never manage to go that deep. Only ever seeing the mid way point as the Gilded Scales would distract the young noble. And thus the family would set itself as the next largest behind the House of Scrolocn, maintaining its position as the coin purse of the family.

Lesser Clan Carp Horn
Founded by Dóri "The Bearded Bear" afer three generations had passed since the houses founding. Dóri "The Bearded Bear" would find himself the eldest and technically illegitimate heir for the new ruling by the Venkasz. With Dóri being born moments before the two could be wed, he was considered no more then a bastard. His father unable to legitimize him no matter the deal he offered the king. And thus, scorned Dóri found himself hated and refused at any opening until he finally founded his own clan. His father said to have died crying tears of happiness as his son was recognized and given right to land under his younger brothers rulership.

Clan Silent Worm
Founded by the elder brother of Hljóðolfr "Silent Worm", the clan claims its descent as the "Hammers of Magic". As the elder brother and all those after where said to have a gift for canceling draconic magics. Building on this, the clan built a small monastary like stronghold that specialized in training dragon slayers. Now the clan numbers nearly a hundred strong with an army of five thousand underneath it. They stand ready for a war with the dragons and are said to back the Venkasz in hopes that they will make a move.

Lesser Clan Worm Tamer
Founded by the younger brother of Hljóðolfr "Silent Worm" who was said to be quite the ranger. Having specialized in purple and frost worm hunting for years to plan to kill Scas'Nco'Srol "Worm Tamer". The youngest brother whos name would be lost to history was said to take the leftover eggs. Building a small fort on a hill nearby and beginning to raise the newly born worms. Creating a cavalry unit that House Scrolocn uses happily on every battlefield.

Renown members:

Hugstari "Big Battle Thinker" of Worm's Peak
A bastard to the current family head and only living child. Hugstari finds himself returning from having spent most of his youth as a mercenary in the hire of Seji the leader of the Pseudotrolls. Now home, he finds his elder brothers dead from the civil war, his sisters married off as punishment for the houses decisions. And himself the only rightful claim to his families noble seat. Hugstari is said to be a brilliant strategist who managed to help a troll named Sen "The Long Bow" in the evacuation and saving of most of the pseudotroll nation. Though having been wounded in the process and losing his right arm to a small horde of thrikreen with massive claw like grasper. Though unloved by his father and the other families looking down on him for losing an arm. Hugstari finds himself quite the charmer, having managed to already make peace amongst the peasants after the recent tax hikes.

Locations:

Worm's Peak
A stronghold in between Treasures Cove and Gollmævill Port that stands a thin but reinforced keep. Known to have once been the home of Scas'Nco'Srol "Worm Tamer" and his horde of frost worms. The stronghold is famous for its music. For on a windy day the many holes the mountain has from the worm tunnels seem to sing a sad but beautiful tune. With the large bard college at its base, many believe the noble family to have embraced the music. The stronghold is otherwise unremarkable, with multiple tunnels throughout, it houses mostly a large continegency of soldiers and bards throughout its halls.

Unique and Common Services:

Hunting, slaying and capturing of worms of the world. Occassionally willing to fight dragons or draconic beasts, House Scrolocn finds itself better at tracking the beasts that give there home its namesake.

Annual Income:

Nearly five hundred thousand ruby volcanos annually, however this is almost entirely from tributes of there other clans. As the House Scrolocn does not make or sell any goods, nor do they often offer any actual services.
