General Info

A race of 2ft tall scaled Niwarves, unique for their love of shiny objects especially copper. Once a common trading partner to the Niwarves, now a forgotten race that lives far deeper then any other in the deep dark.

Bedrokia

A city supposedly bathed in darkness, many believe it to be a myth, however some early drawings show vast caverns dug out with copper ornamenting the walls and limestone pillars in between. Supposedly the city had a permanent darkness spell that was cast to assist with the Chorizon races poor vision. However, it is also noted at at one time they did business with a forgotten golem race as well as small tribes of Minotaurs. Thus many signs of the races can be found throughout the city. It is also noted that in the original drawings it showed them riding dragons, and trading with early dragonborne.

Deep Tools:

The only race who is said to have created tools for mining deep beneath the earth's crust. It is said that the tools a Chorizon makes can penetrate anything they touch. From oventium to dark iron, nothing can stand in the way of these strange black stoned tools.

No known info on the royal family, the races hierarchy or the histories of where their people came from has ever been noted outside of myth or legend.

The Fire Dirt Wars

Dragons v Chorizon Not much is known of the war between these two races. But what is noted is that the race seemed to have attracted the attention of the dragons. This apparently would lead to a chorizon slaying a dragon that had invaded their territory during a great excavation that would be set for farms later if accounts can be believed.
It is said that following the death of the dragon later to be known as “The Fire Dirt Wars”. That apparently the dragons would launch full on war for many moons. This is said to finally end when a young dragon delivered large quantities of copper to the Chorizon ruler. At which point the two races would make peace and agree to a trade alliance for the time.

Religious beliefs

Here we shall discuss the different religious beliefs in this races history throughout the periods.

Copper God

Supposedly the original god of the Chorizon until later accounts show a creation on the opposite side of many coins found in ancient ruins of the iron giant god being added. However, it would seem that the Chorizon believed the Copper face with iron eyes was the father of all those who lived underground. And that the copper itself gave them life.
What should be noted is that many Chorizon would have gone mad as the supposed “life” they gained is also noted as water that would be poisoned due to the close proximity of undead scattered throughout the underdark. Thus the “life” they gained was those who succeeded would become stronger, but those who failed to survive the poison, well they would not be any stronger for it.

Iron Giant God

Supposedly the two gods were rivals from what many researchers have uncovered. Always the opposite sides of the coin in the Chorizon currency. However, it is noted that a large faction of the chorizons worshiped the iron giant god.
Though no name was ever discovered, it should be noted that this god is depicted to have copper eyes and an iron body. It is also noted that the priests who worshiped this god had originally made a settlement in the overworld. However, it is also noted that the priesthood would die out rather quickly as the race could not handle the sunlight and thus many of the churches exposed to direct sunlight would be abandoned.

Undead Madness

Supposedly by ingesting the secretions of one who has been corrupted by undeath causes a Chorizon to go mad. Some have noted this madness turns into grand art pieces, or vast strongholds. But others note the tearing of limbs out, the devouring of ones kin, and lastly the want to phornicate with the glow squids.
It is noted that the only cure is to slowly reduce the amount of poison in the body. If potions of poison resistance are available, we recommend them to start with. The process will take about a year and after that you will be fully cured.

Ability score increase

Gaining a +2 to strength and a +1 to dexterity, your race is quite strong and agile, but don't forget, you're blind in the sunlight.

Age

Immortal? To this date, we have no outstanding research showing a Chorizon dying from natural causes.

Phenotypes

Gray, deep blue, or black of scale, with large black eyes, as well as a thick layer of bone that covers the fists and larger hands overall due to their increase in muscle to tear rock and stone with their bare hands.

Height and Weight

The tallest Chorizon to date was 2’4, with the average being between 1’5 to 2’0.
The heaviest Chorizon to date was 700lbs, however it should be noted this race is extremely dense. The average weight is around 400 to 500lbs.

Alignment

Traditionally this race looks upon the lawful side as honorbound warriors. However, they are by no means looking out for your well being and are more noted to be considered evil as a Chorizon will kill you if its between him starving and you living. Though they consider those with vast shiny wealth to be respected at all costs and typically show more fear to those with plenty of shiny wealth. Due to the power they must have physically or otherwise.

10ft is the average walking speed, you are dense, but your dig speed is 50ft.

Founding

Here we shall explain when the race came to be, how it came to be, and whom it is credited to and where.
No research has ever been conclusive on the races original founding or where it came from or where it lived. Beyond the few images from long dead dragons who visited the city Bedrokia during the First Age. Though many accounts state that the race was a small faction of the primordials, no truth has come of this.
