Chaoticum is only known to occur near oventium and is rarely discernable from the material. Though many adventurers have noted it to be near extroardinarily powerful gateways to other planes of existance.

Price 

Few are the merchants that are willing to deal in the material, fewer are the smiths and craftsman that will work it. A metal that is hardly sold raw has little to no value to most commoners. Even to the masters of the world, chaoticum finds itself a risk only the mad or brave would be willing to purchase. 

Harvesting DC's

For the experienced professional miner, this material can easily be pulled out for a difficulty of 55. However to the untrained miner, this material finds itself with a near four digit difficulty of 950 to avoid its magical dangers. With some reported miners even being sent to Mors upon hitting the material unknowingly with a pickaxe.

Common Uses

Demon Family Arms and Armor

Almost entirely used during the Clouded Age as the common material for noble family weapons. Similar in there effect to the "Samurai" of Mercenaries Hallow, arms and armor made from this material are said to capture the experiences of those slain. Granting them immense power, though in exchange it was said to steal portions of the soul in which the raw emotions of the dead would begin to overwhelm weaker demons. As the soul's voices would continue to scream in agony or pleasure with every use of the item within the wielders mind. And in some rare cases it is noted that the material would grant such immense power that the wielder would implode from it if not prepared.

Description

A purple metallic element that does not naturally occur in the mortal/material plane of existance. As this metal is almost always found near oventium, it is assumed that through the process of intense plane hopping and oventium being nearby. The oventium will morph and absorb the magic to transform into a lighter purple material that is Chaoticum. The chaoticum itself is said to be so rare, that few giants and dragons will ever see a single ounce of the metal ore in there lifetime. Though it is believed to have been once as common as copper or tin in the world. Though after the end of the Clouded Age, the material mysteriously vanished from use.

Discoverer

Though the original discoverer is unknown, in the First Age it is stated that Dragon Lord Breskfoereoas'Plephex "The Copper Flame" was the first to find it. Dooming his family upon its discovery and usage, as they would shortly after vanish from all history books and the mortal plane itself.
