Location to find it

Though a common animal found anywhere near dense forests and hills. The bearhound depending on its sub species breed will also be found in colder to hotter climates and may vary in appearance and shape overall across the multiple continents.

Price (include parts, living and dead price)

Living:
Similar to most bear species these creatures have to be grabbed when first born and prior to them opening there eyes. Thus a cub will usually go from anywhere of ten to twelve thousand depending on the breed.

Pelt:
A good pelt for different types of resistances that can go from anywhere of a couple hundred ruby volcanos to a few thousand ruby volcanos.

Bones:
Not commonly sold or used for much more then basic material for handles and metal crafting. Thus a few sapphire hills is all you can expect for a few pounds of bones.

Meat:
Like most bear meats, this meat is tough and terrible smelling. Overall most won't buy the meat for its toughness both in its bear and canine heritage.

Harvesting DC's

Living:
How brave do you feel about fighting a bearhound that just gave birth and a fully grown male who is guarding her cave?

Pelt:
With an experienced professional hunter one can expect anywhere from a difficulty of 15 to 35 depending on size and mixed breed.

Bones:
With an experienced professional hunter this is usually no more difficult then an average 10 for the size of the creatures being on average large and dense. Making it quite easy to secure the sturdy bones overall.

Meat:
Why would you want this? Most adventurers won't eat it, nor will most beasts. Thus the meat seems to be quite tough and difficult to harvest and work with. With an average difficulty of 18 to 23 depending on the experience of the individual. The meat is easy to spoil with how big the internal organs seem to be and there close proximity to the thin gut line of the creature.

Shelf life per part

Living:
Roughly anywhere between 18 years of age to nearly 50 years of age depending on the species, diet and exercise.

Pelt:
About five weeks before it should begin to lose its natural oils and the fur begin to fall off.

Bones:
They are bones, they seem if in the right conditions to never go bad. However if under the wrong conditions, one could expect up to two years before the dense bones will wither away fully.

Meat:
About three days before the smell doubles in odor and about five more before it goes bad and turns green. There was even once a book written about a hamhawk steak being served that was green to a poor individual. Going as far as to chase the poor individual throughout the world to watch him eat this green piece of meat.

Common Uses

Living:
Beasts of burden and as family pets are the most common use for these creatures. With there intense loyalty and immense size, they are said to make great guarding beasts.

Pelt:
Commonly used for its cold resistance properties.

Bones:
No real use for these bones have been found, as they only provide a good basis of a handle for giant and larger creatures weapon.

Meat:
If you can stomach it, in some cultures you are looked upon as a powerful individual. In other cultures it means your insane or without knowledge. In either case, the meat is only usually used by the bravest for rations.

Description

When running into a large brown bear, one would hope the creature to be full and not territorial. When running into a bearhound, one hopes that it is not mixed with small canine ancestry. In short the beasts take on a mix of black, brown, kodiak, and sloth like bears with the multiple breeds of canines in the world. Marrying the two together in perfect harmony, it seems the creatures are gifted with quite a high intelligence and curiosity to boot. With many finding themselves wandering closer to settlements in hopes of stealing scraps of food or breaking into houses to run off with there meat. These creatures have been known at the size of a large kodiak bear, to sneak through windows at night and fully devour small animals in the household and children. But at the same time, they have been known to act as loyal companions who are more dog then bear in most cases. Even being ridden into battle by giants, snow beards, and dragons alike.
