Fur and Leather
If harvested properly the fur of an arcticmane can last nearly five to ten years without treating before it will begin to naturally rot. Though the longer it is left out, the more oil you will find within the fur.
Frost Glands
Without proper preservation these glands will go fast, expect maybe a day or two once the creature has been killed without proper freezing (-50F) or preserving.
Meat
Surprisingly the meat almost naturally preserves itself with its cooling effect. Much of the meat will last nearly four to eight weeks depending on the heat.
Common Uses
Fur and Leather
Commonly used to make cold resistant armors, the frost giants and snow dwarves seem to prefer these creatures thick fur to there boar alternative. As much of it seems to naturally last longer over the years and stretch with its user.
Frost Glands
Most often used for either cold resistant potions, cold poisons, or even cold enchanting oils. Some have managed to quench there weapons with it and gain the naturally magical damage of ice. But others say that you need to use the glands in the metal itself when crafting.
Meat
Most often used for rations in hot climates as the meat has a naturally cooling effect on those who consume it.
Bones
Commonly used with druidic crafting to enchant weapons with cold damage, natural ice spells, and for defense on there shields that provide a bit of frost when smacked against.
Description
A creature depicted as a large dog like monster, standing 12ft tall, and with a mane of frost. The creature is known to hunt in packs and ambush with ice knife spells. There fierce blue eyes allow them to spot seemingly anything within the dark depths of the frost forests and mountains they like to inhabit. These creatures are quite intelligent and like wolves, seem to continue to grow with age and good hunting grounds.
