Personal history
Vali, unfortunately, doesn't remember most of her past. During her escape with the now deceased Colonel Dronei from a Duskyrn bioweapon facility, she was hit with a heavy piece of metal that caused her to become unconscious for a few days. She awoke with no memory of what happened during her time there.
Colonel Dronei filled her in during this time about the facility, the Drow, and their experiments. Vali found out she had magic in a very forgiving way. She was attempting to will the remote in her room closer to her when an ethereal hand popped out of her own, grabbed the remote, and brought it back to her. To which, she screamed.
Unfortunately, not many were able to make it out alive. A couple died to the Drow, a couple died when the ships started turning on, a few more died because they fell off their ships, but we managed to get out. We're going to lay low for a couple days and refuel. But what happened to me? I can barely remember my name, I can barely remember you, and you expect me to go along with you? Yeah.Vali, and several dozen other prisoners, were biological experiments - attempts to see if the Weave could bond with non-Etherians. Dronei explained to her that of the few that managed to escape, she was the most viable weapon. The others of similar power were either killed or their fate is unknown as Dronei had to flee the planet. With recent events, Vali has learned her DNA is in rapid decay. The Weave, or rather her usage of the Weave, is causing her body to tear itself apart as she casts magic. Education
Vali has received a Pilot's License from the Teplin Intergalactic Flight Association and has held onto it since she was 16 years old, as well as a general Land Vehicle License from the Intergalactic Licensing Administration.
Educational-wise, Vali has obtained a Masters from the University of Elonia in Mechanical and Chemical Engineering with an emphasis in aerospace. She has a few minors which are computer science and communications.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Prior to her imprisonment, very little is known about her achievements.
During her travels with The Argonauts, she developed a new technique to reduce the time between warp drives. This technique causes the ship to be inoperable for a brief time, as the energy to the engines are cut with the flaps to the core are open to space, but rapidly cools down the engine as it is exposed to space.
Failures & Embarrassments
Before her amnesia, it is unknown what Vali's embarrassments and failures are as she cannot recall them.
However, the death of Dronei is Vali's current biggest failure as she believes his death is on her hands.
Mental Trauma
Vali currently suffers from amnesia of which it is unknown if she can recover her memories or if her brain has suffered too much damage to retain them. Basic medical scans showed that when Vali was hit, part of her brain's receptors were blocked.
She also is currently suffering from depression due to the loss of her longest running friend in her new life, Colonel Dronei.
Intellectual Characteristics
Vali is a reserved engineer. While she is smart and understands mechanical and chemical engineering quite well, she tends to wait to speak until others have spoken first to get a sense of how everyone is acting. From there, she gears what she says towards the audience.
Morality & Philosophy
Vali is very logically oriented, most of the time, and therefore thinks society should be run by the best of the best. However, she doesn't believe in authoritarianism as she would prefer people to live their lives the way they see fit; not everyone is an animator, not everyone is an aerospace engineer.
She believes warfare to be abhorrent, and very rarely necessary. She prefers not to seek violence but refuses to back down if the odds are even.
Vali believes that everyone's "destiny" is what they make of it; she doesn't believe in fate dictating where people go but their actions. She believes that anyone can make anything of themselves if they put their mind to it.
