Aisling

Composition

Manpower

Manpower isn't large. No one knows exactly how many belong to the Aisling. There's a minimum of 100 Aisling at any given time. Numbers can go up depending on the needs of Dumisani. But numbers have been locked since they became wraiths.

Equipment

They don't need any specialized equipment to perform their duties. Though laying down so the body can relax (especially when they have/had phsyical bodies) makes it easier.

Weaponry

Dreams are their weapons. Through dreams they can connect to others and influence them, positively or negatively. On the extreme side of negatively, they can and have killed people.

Structure

They have a matriarchal structure with their leader being given the title of Lady. The second and third in command are titled Mistress, and Optia, respectively. The last important person in the top chain is the spy master, who's been given the title of Leaira.   The second and third in command as well as the spy master all have Aisling who report to them. All orders from their leader come through these three women.

Tactics

They target people in their dreams, which makes it very difficult to counteract. There is no formal formation as dreams tend to be a solitary activity. Aisling can work in groups when it comes down to it, but they usually don't work in groups any larger than two or three Aisling. It's not that they can't work in larger groups or as a collective whole, it has never been done before because they haven't thought to do it.

Training

When they had physical bodies (when births and deaths were happening), the Aisling would start testing children at the age of two seasonal cycles. If a child has not manifested the dream ability by the age of five, the Aisling turn them back over to their parents. Those who do manifest the ability are put through rigorous training in both dreamstate and the waking world. Many have broken under this training as it does require high mental fortitude to be able to withstand the training and to be able to manipulate the dream as well as other people in those dreams. "Retraining" is merely a yearly test, kind of like a physical, to see if anything to be worked on.   Since becoming wraiths, Aisling training is essentially an all day/all year kind of a thing as they can use their in and out of dreamstate. Though no new children have been born so the testing at a young age has stopped.

History

The first founding date is when Dumisani created the Aisling. But they didn't truly come together until the second founding date when they pledged themselves to Sevilin. Since then they have taken on the culture, including the hairstyle, of Manzi and follow Sevilin loyally. Overall, they don't have a lot of political power but their leader does report and take orders directly from Sevilin. She even advises him every now and again, giving her, at least some political power.   They are currently stuck (mentally) near the end of the Civil War. But they are a strong force to contend with. As such they defend the Kingdom of Manzi's borders zealously.
