Patrick's Guide to Potions

This document is out of date. For the new system, refer to the Subsystem Revamp Spreadsheet.

Introduction

In order to brew potions, you'll need a few things: an alchemy kit, reagents, substrate, and knowledge of how to brew the potion. This book is an attempt to share some of that knowledge, specifically the recipes for potions and what the potions can be used for.   To make substrate using a basic alchemy kit, it takes an hour and any two reagents to distill them down into one dose of substrate. A basic kit can make 5 doses at a time. Additionally, if you borrow my equipment, you can use two higher quality (50g or more) reagents to produce 5 doses of substrate instead of just 1. The brewing time for most potions is 30 minutes, and a basic kit can brew only one at a time.   In almost all recipes, the amount of substrate needed is the same as the number of ingredients. In the few exceptions, I'll make a note of the difference.
