Personal history

Born to an Elvish healer, Tindomerel, and an estranged human sorcerer, Lysander, born Silivrios, was exceptionally gifted with magic at a very young age. He had a quiet and mostly uneventful childhood, if a little isolated. He excelled at his studies, magical and academic, but being a half-elf made it difficult for him to forge relationships with his peers. Still, he was quite happy to withdraw into his lessons, magic easily becoming a safe refuge for him.
When Lysander was 16, he sought out his father, an infamous and dangerous sorcerer known as Jaya the Devourer. Despite his father's intimidating reputation, he was overjoyed to meet his son and very eager to teach him rare, exotic, and even taboo forms off magic. Lysander, naturally, was enthusiastic about furthering his magical aptitude, though his enthusiasm was met with ambivalence and trepidation by his mother and step-father, respectively.
Despite his family's reservations, Lysander often met with his father and furthered his mystical education. Jaya's influence was unusually empowering, the man celebrated his son's unique background, something that had only been considered a flaw or weakness in him before. His newfound confidence, possibly beginning to border on arrogance, as well with his continued mastery of unusual and powerful types of magic began to drive a wedge between Lysander and his step-father, Rhithanil. The young half-elf began to see his long-time paternal figure as an obstacle holding him back. It was around this time that Lysander chose his preferred moniker, based on a fairy tale from Jaya's ancestral home - a story about a changeling child that didn't fit in with either of his parent's families.
