Eldara is best thought of as Jupiter with the various Realms orbiting it.  The Realm that currently has all the action is Tellaria, a standard European medieval tech level world where all the usual tropes are in play.

The area in Tellaria that is the main focus of these stories is called the Shattered Sea.  It's a 3000-mile-wide divot in the planet created when an ancient society of mages tried to tap into power from a buried ley line.  They succeeded, but blew themselves up in the process.

The Shattered Sea today is a land of islands floating in the sky far above the cloudy Abyssal Domaine.  The islands all have their own civilizations on them; towns, farms, forests, mountains, etc.
