The reluctant samurai magistrate of Rindō at the edges of the Shosuro Family's holdings. Shosuro Jūko is a whip-thin woman with a bald head and severe features. She is easily distinguished by the tattoo of a scorpion's tail wrapped around her right eye. Even her traditional mask, worn by all Scorpion samurai, has had its upper-right corner carved out to display this tattoo. With her sallow red robes of office and elaborate daishō threaded through the sash at her hip, her figure is both striking and imposing. However, as Jūko would be the first to admit, she is more comfortable with the courtly fan than the martial blade.
It is not public knowledge what failing led Jūko to assignment as the magistrate of Rindō, a post not envied by any samurai of the Scorpion Clan. Indeed, service here is only a few steps from full exile from the clan. Nor is the woman herself forthcoming with this information. She carries her administrative duties out with the steely determination of one who knows that this may be her final chance at reclaiming her status within the clan. It is not uncommon, however, for Jūko's frustration at her post to slip out as a bit of casual cruelty toward the peasants within her domain.
