The first hourglass

One thing about living in a world where everything can be formed suddenly by the influence of a strong emotion on the slightest fragment of powerful memory, or by the collision of many chaotic emotions born from different memories, and so on, is that our visitors don't question what happens here. Is either "no way, this is not happening" or "Okay, sure, is magic".
For us, is just normalcy. Everything can happen, even if the more dangerous things don't occur in the public areas. A few study the behavior of Shards and the origin of they natural manifestations, but no one seems to be brave enough to try and understand the method used by a Granter to make manifestations himself.
The employees who create and deliver wish granting items know the process to assemble those objects and the words to put the wish in them. None of them wonders how those words are magical.
But everyone is curious about the First Hourglass. There are stories about its creation, and a lot of theories about how it can replicate itself into magical items able to turn time back in a specific world, for the purposes of a specific person. Everyone wonders if it is a way to use it to manipulate time too, or if it's only purpose is to create others. Is this the tool that made the company's time loop possible?
A few dare to say that its power is lost, or distributed between the spells used to create the new items.
Others only want to know where it is now? "It has to be a forbidden area", they say. "Or the granter's room".
There are no answers, and I'm sure nobody expected them.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

There is no information on how it works, and you may understand that we wouldn't dare to study it. I'm sure that The Granter wouldn't allow it, but nobody has ever asked.
All we know is that the replication is possible using shards as fuel, but that's how every process works here. Is not to adventurous to guess that it is a manifestation induced by some granter, build and powered with shards too.

While there are different ways to create the wish items now in the day, not all of them in the shape of hourglasses or another time tracking device, we all remember that the first wishes were granted thanks to the First Hourglass. That's how the company was born, making possible everything you can see now.

They say that the previous Granter put a wish in a a common hourglass before summoning the current one. Or as he summoned him. Or right after, a funny version of the story if you consider that the summoning was supposedly made with that granter's last breath. Anyway, nobody knows what the wish was about, but when the bo-ss turned the hourglass to make the wish possible, instead of repeating a day or creating a temporary loop, it created a second hourglass, one that could be used to change somebody else's time.
The Granter gave that new hourglass to Katerina, who was trying to save a life that day, and kept producing second chances for those who could use them wisely. That's how all this started.
I'm not saying is all truth, and it has been a while since the last time the first hourglass was used. Yet the first hourglass is, in a way, the core of our work here.
