Shamans Oath

The city of Shamans Oath is a coastal city, placed in a valley. The Anduril Ocean lies to the south, opening to the city between two ancient towers that flank the harbor. To the east stands Crow Tower, which is said to hold death for all who enter. This is held true because it is a prison for all of the worst evil doers. Legend has it that a single prisoner resides in the topmost cell, face obscured by an iron mask. Across the harbor is Raven tower, said to be a place of knowledge. This of course is reinforced by the fact that an ancient order of shamans, druids, and wizards have taken up residence, and ponder the mysteries of the world.
The Docks The docks themselves are split, as the River Thune feeds into the ocean. This river is not quite wide enough for shipping traffic, but does allow for east transporting of goods via barge to and from the harbor itself. The port does have various warehouses, two inns, and a tavern to allow sailors to drink off their sea legs.
Marketplace The open air market is situated along the river, on both sides. This is facilitated by an arched bridge, which onlookers often find themselves on to take a break between the salesmen hawking their goods. Nearly everything you could want can be found here, with the exception of poisons, or strictly illegal goods.
Temple District Along the side of the western mountains, we can find the temple district. Nearly all of the most common deities have an altar in the Church of the Divines, but those less common (or less accepted) can still be found in the buildings nearby. Some may be in run-down shacks, hidden down dark alleys, and one is even in the back room of the only tavern in this district.
Residential Area Along the flank of the eastern slope lies the residences of those city folk who can afford it. The more affluent, the higher along the slope they can live, with the merchants having the homes nearest to the top. Along the bottom, we find the slums. If one knows where to look, there is a black market of the less savory goods here.
City Center The center of the city, and it’s crown jewel, is the Rotunda. All things relating to running the city itself is housed within, including the Governess. The courts and their three judges administer cases here, and just outside is the Shamans Oath Bank. Surprisingly, the head banker is not a priestess of Abadar, but an elf who was chosen as to ensure impartiality. Across the courtyard adorned with a fountain sits the guard barracks. The entire city center is atop a large flat bridge, spanning the river so that the Rotunda sits in the very center of the city, looking straight down the river.
Gates Behind the City Center, to each the northwest and northeast, are gates in the canyons between the mountains that make up the sides of the city and the imposing mountain that sits to the direct north of the city. These gates create a natural bottleneck to all invading forces, and as such the city has never been occupied by outside forces.
