Session III: Saint Arnold's Chapel Report
General Summary
Meeting up at the Red Moon Inn, with Raaf and Will meeting Perry for the first time (who has once again broken his bow), the group sets out for Saint Arnold's Chapel as per Raaf's instructions, where they meet with Sister Habercorn, who has for the past months been secretly sheltering Wendelin von Jungfreud, a 12-year old boy who has fallen ill as of late.
Raaf diagnoses him with blood rot, and comes to the conclusion that he has about a week left to live if left untreated. The group leaves the chapel as Raaf goes to ask for the equipment he needs to perform the required surgery, which has apparently already been prepared by Doktor Madelung. Will, meanwhile, goes to the Metalworker's Guild and is told that they may have found a master for him to work under. Perry tries to get his bow repaired, but fails in convincing a fletcher to do it for free. Morathric, meanwhile, informs Cordelia Wesselingh in her apothecary's shop that he has "ended the von Dabernick menace", shocking the woman. He realizes he has been pranked and, tracing a faint magical trail, leaves a note by the bridge for his prankster.
When the group returns to Saint Arnold's Chapel later that morning, they find three intruders, about to take Wendelin as he sleeps. They attack, killing the three people with the help of Sister Habercorn, who appears to be a competent fighter, and on one of the ravaged bodies they find a note that these people were there to take Wendelin away, and to his uncle Emmerich von Jungfreud.
Morathric and Perry search, and find, the secret way out of Ubersreik through the tunnels underneath the Chapel, while Raaf performs the required surgery on Wendelin with help of Will and Sisyer Habercorn.
Moments after they finish the surgery, General Jendrick von Dabernick appears in the company of two fully armored knights and a detachment of Altdorfer soldiers to seize the boy. Encouraging Sister Habercorn to take the Jungfreud child and run, they try to stall the soldiers but ultimately fail and both the Sigmarite priestess and the third Jungfreud child are captured.
In the Chapel itself, they speak with Lady Nacht, who discusses the events with them briefly, shows Perry how to reload the pistol he looted off of the body of one of the Jungfreud loyalists, and hands everyone present a golden coin for their 'aid' in the capture of Wendelin von Jungfreud, a valuable hostage for the Emperor's servants to hold.
When Wendelin is brought outside, he sees the daylight again for the first time in close to half a year now, and is dragged off in chains.
